I've been away on the sunny but cool shore of rural Denmark, with my wife and her sister, whose husband, my brother in law, a great no-nonsense bloke, died five weeks ago of the evil cancer. It was a healing time. We all need those. Life should be lived with all the joy we can put into it, while we have it. Ideally in beautiful places like Malta, or the Danish Baltic coast. Hey Steve, good luck getting your stitches out and hopefully you get some favourable results from the tests. I don’t think it matters what you make personally. I visit your channels to watch you. I enjoy watching your content. You are the personality and the reason why I visit your channels. I’m guessing that goes the same for most people who have taken their time to comment. We enjoy watching and hearing what you have to say in your vlogs. that’s probably why the Aussie video didn’t do so well, because you’ve done such a great job of allowing your interviewee do most of the talking. when in fact your audience wants to hear what you have to say. Joking! You are a bigger KZbinr than I am…many times over, so I can’t really give you any credible advice other than what I’ve heard watching other BIG KZbinrs. 1) KZbin recommend videos for viewers, not viewers for videos. 2) I think to retain an audience you have to be captivating if it’s a great story you’re telling, people will hang around and revisit your channel , you do that well👍. 3) this is a wild guess but I think the biggest problem you have is your titles and your thumbnails. Like I don’t understand some of the titles and thumbnails that you put on your videos and I would never search for those titles on KZbin because I don’t relate to them, perhaps get some advice from someone more experienced with thumbnails and titles. I think you would do significantly better attracting new viewers. 4) this might sting but I think you could be making significantly more impromptu videos. I like the idea of you continuously rambling straight for 20 minutes as you do 😝. I think that’s fantastic and that’s the way to go. One take videos less editing you can do it. I know you can. Don’t worry about polished highly edited videos, just pick up your camera and film. Just try it but make sure the title and thumbnail appeals to a wider audience and it is relative to what in the video. Now I need to take some of my own advice.😗😎✌️🍻 Pick up the camera and get to work 😎✌️🍻👍

Steve I really can’t thank you enough for the videos you’ve done over the past few years, my late father was a very proud Maltese man so I always have that connection with Malta in my heart but sadly I haven’t been to Malta for some years now due to one thing or another. Like I said to you before your videos actually make me feel like I’m with you on your walks or drives depending what’s uploaded at the time, I think that’s what’s good about them, the down to earth honest approach you have. I’ve lost count how many I’ve watched and it brought back so many childhood memories. Whilst all the Drama’s in Malta you still manage to show us the beautiful Malta we all love and cherish whilst being positive about it all. As a Dane and formerly a ten times guest to Malta, during rather few of the later years (In our Danish owned Village-area in Mellieha), I am sad that my Handicapped wife can't do it anymore (we are both 76), and also missing our Cat from the Colony, during our 7 week stay! We also have our own Airline flying directly down to Luqa (Atlantic Airways)! But Your Films have given me the sense of being back and I have loved also the places I have been around! Steve, I watch your videos on a smart TV and it is fairly simple to like, read comments, leave a Super Thanks, etc. For your other SmartTV viewers, on my LG TV you just click the Up arrow on the remote control twice (until the title is highlighted), click the Right arrow to the "thumbs up" and click on that. Done! And, I've noticed that, when I'm browsing the Recommended videos on KZbin, some will come up in my History that I didn't actually watch. It seems to happen if I get distracted and pause too long on a video.. If it starts playing, even for a couple milliseconds, it's recorded in my History.

I subscribe to loads of people mostly engines motorbikes military vehicles etc and its just a "telly program" to me I have no interest in them. I can buy Twistees in Uk under the name of Tastees. They are made in Malta and you get them in Home Bargains , 89p for 150 grams - bargain ! steve i really think you should consider wearing a hat at all times when you are out in the sun. I went through cancer treatment last year and was advised to keep out of the sun. We hired a car in 1985 from a place in Hamrun. I t was rubbish and broke down eventually. They gave us a brand new Escort Estate. Had it for one day before we went back home 😒😒

It seems like everyone's video counts are lower than normal, it's been that way for well over a year now. Go look at your youtube watch history, you will see all kinds of things you never really watched, it's easy to accidentally start watching a video without trying to go in to watch it, just touching the preview photo of a video starts playing it. That is why it appears that people are only watching for a second or two. There are all kinds of things that I didn't even know that I previewed that show up on my watch history. I think that youtube prefers suggesting dramatic videos over non dramatic videos, as long as the drama does not anger them, or hurt them legally, or financially. I think of American politics as a waste of my time. Both parties take advantage of people's anger and their fear to benefit themselves. Both sides are full of con-artists.

I used to like walking from Hamrun up to Sta Venera Bocci but Hamrun has gone downhill. The old kiosk is not the same, especially the prices lol. Why not do some vids on different band clubs? There's loads as you know and a lot of people coming on holiday would benefit knowing these places are open to them as well and see the great value compared to the usual Sliema, Valletta stuff. As for politics, dodgy ground mate.

Hi Steve, I think your heart isn't in it anymore, you should just enjoy the experience of making a video. You're retired now, so you have alot of time on your hands. You say it's not about the money, but you keep coming back to that. Have you ever thought what exactly you would do if you gave up? If you don't know what you will do with your time I'd carry on. But remember, people have their own lives to live, and all your subscribers won't watch every vlog... it's impossible! I wish you well with your health and the future, you will be missed if you stop 😊

You've had a health scare, and I think with your brother in law dying and your friend very ill, its made you think about what you are doing and where you are going. We are all on this planet called earth for only a short time... you make the most of that time, and if it means stopping the channel your subscribers will understand. I don't want to get maudling, so I'll change the subject! Regarding going forward I would like you to do more interviews, but that would be your decision to make. By the way, did they tell you to put cling film round your leg when you shower to prevent it getting wet? That's what I always advised, I'm a retired nurse and the job never leaves you 🤣
