I know a couple of guys who own 8-10 between the two of them. They have 18”-24” barrels, chambered in .243, 6mm, 6.5cm, .260, .270, .308, and all shoot 1/2 to 3/4 minute at 100 yards. One weekend, I carried MK VII in an 18” barrel platform chambered in 260 Remington topped with a Steiner and suppressed. I killed a few does and 12 hogs with it. These guns are without a doubt the real deal.

That range of possible calibers to choose from is absolutely insane. There are calibers on the list to choose from that are super rare wildcat type stuff from the days of yore! To hear that the lead time is, atleast at the moment this video has been posted, was only 4-5 months. Is super surprising, because when In the years I worked there, I can’t ever remember a time when the lead time to have your custom bolt action rifle delivered was less than 16 months. At the time I was working there, there were only two gunsmiths dedicated to the production of every one of these. And sometimes, only one. So they were always built by the same 2 people. Every single one. This was a fantastic place to work for a person who is a a blue collar America loving patriot to the core (Jesus, family, guns) type of thing. It was the definition of American ingenuity. They had expanded to a degree while I was there by open a gun store about a mile away from the original site where I worked, and had a second machine shop connected to the back of the gun store. The original factory is definitely one of the last of the Mohicans so to speak, of its kind. In an age of automation, while even the old shop uses CNC machines to do the majority of the machining operations, it also on the other half of the shop has a ton of super old specialized machines that all do a single operation on the barrel. The deep bore drillers that are in that factory are the Pratt and Whitney deep bore drillers from the Springfield factory that they used to deep bore drill their barrels to arm world war 1. Still running like a motherfucker every day, turning out great work. Old though they may be, something has to be said for a machine that was designed and built by the same people who designed and built the engines for the SR-71 blackbird. The 2 guys who were in charge of the reaming of the barrels after the deep bore were 2 immigrants. One was a guy from Chile, and the other was a guy from Poland who had a deep seated hatred for the Russians. These guys were awesome to the Core and complete opposites. The guy from Chile was super mild, funny, and very outgoing, the guy from Poland was very serious always, worked harder than anyone else in the place, worked constant overtime, very conservative values, straight as an arrow. I worked right next to these guys, polishing chambers on shotgun barrels, there were many times that me and the polish guy would go at each other mostly because he was easily offended by a lot of different things, due to his serious nature. But I love him all the same. Their bread and butter at Shaw are AR barrels. If I’m you check around the internet you’ll find a lot of internet trolls talking shit on Shaw barrels. These are the same guys who own probably numerous AR-15’s from a few different companies. Who will tell you and most likely back up their claims at the range that their AR’s are stone cold tack drivers. Now I’ll let you in on a little known secret….. ready…..? If you have an AR-15 built by an American company, odds are it has an E.R. SHAW made barrel on it from the old factory. Everyone is constantly singing the praises of their sig Sauer pistols. Guess what, Shaw barrels in them too! DPMS panther arms, all made with an e.r.Shaw barrel, and for you upland bird hunters and clay shooters….. if you have a Remington 28 gauge, it’s got a barrel on it from Shaw. Or if you have one of their 16 gauges and need a new barrel, they are getting it from Shaw. I could go on and on, there are a multitude of different gun companies out there that use Shaw barrels on their guns. And like I mentioned before, if you have an American made AR the likelihood that it’s got a Shaw barrel on it is highly likely. probably, 2,400 sqft factory, located in a town so small it is not even considered a town but a village that is literally about 800 yards from one end to the other. The whole thing all the way around is a great place and a REAL American treasure. These places are virtually extinct. The guys are regular blue collar hard workers who are some of the best people ive ever met. A fantastic environment for a true patriot to wake up and serve at every day.
