A walk to Sunderland Point, on Morecambe Bay. Cut off by the tides on many days. A peaceful and charming place with a dark past.

Alastair once again that was brilliant. I think the change of scenery and walk was great as it’s nice to see more of the area. Those building on the point were beautiful and really interesting to hear the story of the cabin boy. Also a nice mixture of drone footage 👍♥️

I was ready for a change as well Phil. It's a lovely quiet place, slightly awkward for me to get to at the moment because of the buses! It's closer for me than the Northern lakes. Hey Alastair, very nice place to explore 😊 Hadn’t heard of Sunderland point before lovely drone footage. Very sad about the history surrounding the cabin boy. Glad he managed to escape but awful to then get an illness and pass away. Thanks for sharing

Gosh, had to google that, thought you’d swapped sides and gone all North East on us for a minute. Some great drone shots on this one, really sold the area you were hiking! Lovely, peaceful spot! Great history about the area, particularly the cotton tree! Ah poor cabin boy, at least his final resting place is a nice one, albeit unconsecrated. Change IS good as the rest, protect those knees! 👍

It's a lovely quiet place, especially if you're there when the tide cuts the road off for a couple of hours! It was a nice change for me, filmed the day after last week's offering. Not a beach where you want to be cut off my the tide and as we are less that 30 miles from the coast always loved the sea. Sad to hear about the cabin boy and a seem to remember some cockle pickers losing their lives a few years back when they got cut off by the tide there. Nothing wrong with something a bit different, cheers Alan

Yes, a sad tale... hopefully we live in more enlightened times. The unfortunate cockle pickers where trapped further North in Morecambe Bay...off Bolton-le-Sands.
