I like this format. The subs are small but when they are all in a row like that they almost form one very long sub. A bit like how a 6x9 works the 9" length produces more bass and the 6" width produces more mid. This long array can simulate the longer length for deeper frequency reproduction. Back in the day we had some larger version of 6x9's like 8x10" or something. Unfortunately I can't remember what they were exactly as it was around 30 years ago or more. Thanks for the links but I was a bit shocked by the price of the SMD power meter. Going to have to find a cheaper way. Seen something on Ali ex but it's probably not going to do the same job. I've been driving 24x 1" compression drivers wired down to 1.3Ohms per ch on a Powersoft 4 chan 3kw stable to 2 ohms. I'm guessing the impedance rise is what saves me but they are only 1" motors so not that hard to drive. Do these Sundown amps have a clip signal led? I mean you really need clipping lamps up front by the head unit. Then you would know exactly where the subs start to clip depending on their temperature etc.

two 12s has significantly more cone area than five 6.5s. they would play louder and be in a smaller box as well. also, because two 12s has so much more cone area and total displacement (as long as the subs are decent), you will have less distortion and be more efficient doing it without overheating the coils. only use these subs if you cant physically fit a larger sub. even then, consider a custom design with a larger sub anyways. these subs are a VERY niche product.
