Well, I've done a lot of kick panels, subwoofer boxes, but I gotta say that your method is the best! I see how fast and simple it is, how many possibilities it can provide for building shape out of nothing, like you said! Wish we had such tricks for a reasonable price on the market! Great job!
@CarAudioFabrication9 жыл бұрын
Nice video! That laying up the glass on a flat surface trick works great. Thats what we did in our Simple Door pod vid series to add the slight curve to the pod. Simple and quick! The Sunflash stuff works great too! Good job man!

Have you started thinking about how to finish out the center console, front cover, and kick panels yet? I think painting them the same silver as the outside would give it a classy look that the rest of the build has. Just my .02 though. Awesome job and videos!

Hey Soundman, great videos and keep it up! I've got a Scion TC with a small stereo system for the daily, 800 watt crunch driver series amp with alpine 12 inch, but the step mom keeps bitching like she's in the pound when it gets to loud, what would you suggest for a bass controller?

@booogs9 жыл бұрын
love the videos! been a long time fan since I first bought your early iPad mini kits! I had a question: is there a reason why you're using precut fiberglass panels over the traditional fleece/staple method?
@powang599 жыл бұрын
boogie santos you saw part 1 where he made the panels right? They wasn't really precut, he still laid down fiberglass and resin to make the thin sheet.
@booogs9 жыл бұрын
LowLyfe yeah i saw the video. i meant precut more like he would cut the pieces and then place them rather than use any sort of wood framing and fleece method.
@booogs9 жыл бұрын
***** ah gotcha. i felt like an idiot because i left that comment before hitting the 3:00 mark in the video where you explain everything. is this a technique you're going to use more often? i'd imagine this method is kind of limiting to what shapes you can do and anything curvy would require more time, but on the other hand it also has a cool shape and looks a little more "retro" in a way. i feel you on the symmetry though. i started doing my trunk audio build because of your videos and i feel like getting everything mirror perfect is near impossible even though you measure everything constantly.

you can use a piece of 1/4" glass instead of alloy sheet super flat sheets its easier, we do big carbon fibre sheets that way....wicked method though easier than stretching acoustic mesh.
