This reporter is trying to make her mark and maybe gunning for a better reporting or anchor position. I feel her line of questioning was rather too intense, stiff and serious for the subject matter. Let Suni breathe and answer fun questions. This shouldn't be like the presidential debate. Suni is a class act. Congratulations.

She is awesome! An all American. Simon made a racial comment about an all black podium. I don't think it should be about skin color. I am of mixed race and an 8th generation American and don't teach my daughter to judge based on skin color or race. That's not what the spirit of the World's Olympics is about. Suni Lee is the real athlete.
@Nobodyy1912 ай бұрын
But it’s history… black women had to fight so hard to be there and be judges fairly and now they’re dominating the sport. It’s a big deal for US and for THEM. They aren’t thinking on race, they’re not saying black people are better. All they’re saying is that it’s the first time it’s ever happened. It’s basically the same as saying it’s saint lucias first time medaling…
@msmolyneux31692 ай бұрын
Making excuses for racism is not ok at any level for any race. I applaud hard work and achieving. I won't applaud the open racism this represents.
@Nobodyy1912 ай бұрын
@@msmolyneux3169 you surely can’t be mixed with black if this is your viewpoint. Racism by definition is the systemic oppression of a racial group to the social, economic, and political advantage of another. No where here was any other person of any other race oppressed against. Simone pointed out ( and I saw the clip, she literally said the podium was all black and that’s it) that the podium was all black, which is a historical moment, just as if the podium was all Italian or all any other country. Historical. I agree with your comment on not teaching your daughter to see race, but you have to understand that race is a part of society therefore it is a part of our lives, specifically black women. All three of them having made it to that point in their careers given everything they’ve been through was a moment in itself. Black women have faced so much scrutiny in this sport from their hair, to their skin, their access to training facilities, fair judging, etc. based on your profile picture (sorry if that’s not you lol) but you are not a women of color. You will not experience what these women have experienced trying to be treated as equals even today. Saying Suni is the real athlete made you out to be the racist one. Everyone on planet Earth and beyond knows that Simone is the goat of gymnastics. She’s landed tricks that nobody else can and has 4 moves named after her. She’s the oldest woman to compete in gymnastics on team USA. She could make the biggest mistake and still win gold because her difficulty is so high. Suni is wonderful I’ll say that for sure, I mean I really enjoyed watched her, and making it back from that kidney disease is so crazy and she’s so strong. But tell me, what makes her the real athlete?
@coloursof-autumn86502 ай бұрын
@@msmolyneux3169 oh please. You people only cry racism when someone celebrates “blackness” but mute when it’s negative. Nobody is crying about people celebrating Suni being Asian American. It’s historical. Cry about it, baby 😂😂😂
@msmolyneux31692 ай бұрын
Again, your making assumptions based on your perspective. It's ok. Psychologically people tend to believe everyone has the same perspectivs and believes as they do. My premise is solidly based in no one should be judged or categorized based on their skin color or ethnicities. Have a good day.
