Dr Puri....PLEASE know that what u do is not just ur job...it is ur calling! ur education is top notch, Ivy league, but ur humility and kindness, your HEART shines brighter than ur accomplishments even!!! I hope my words reach u somehow....im in tears, so touched that there is someone as good as u fighting for not only end of life pt's, but their families as well❤ I sure wish u were my mothers dr. when she was dying of cancer. There is almost no info/dr's to teach or show us how to navigate these incredibly hard & painful times in our lives😔u r an ambassador for those who r struggling at the worst time in their life. Please kno u r loved, appreciated & God sent!!! Sending you much love& respect❤and please, never stop doing what u r doing!!!

Its a shame you didn’t spend more time talking and learning from the nurses caring for dying people, that are present at 2 in the morning, that see what its like for people. We learned long before physicians that talking about death was something most patients are relieved to do when they find someone comfortable with their thoughts. I am glad that you are finally encouraging physicians to face their own inner discomfort with these conversations.
