I think it's amazing what you guys are doing for your son. My son has autism and other medical things wrong with him. The doctors have told me that he won't do well in life and tried to offer all this meds for him. They even said he chances of him succeeding in school would be slim. I refuse to let someone tell me what my child will and will not accomplish in life. The internet hadn't even started at the time so all my research was done at the library. I changed his diet, basically just watch everything he eats, I kept him active, and just worked with him. Well, he turns 18 next month, he graduated a year early from high school. Got offered scholarship for University here and this coming May he will have an Associates Degree in Cyber Security. I'm one very proud momma. So for anyone to tell you that he might not lead a good life, or make it on his own as an adult, is bull.

Wow this video is beyond inspirational you guys are such great parents. Many parents hear that diagonses and feel like there child can never over come it . My brother was diagnose with a form of autism when he was 3 as well and through life style change and great support at home and at school he went from not being able to talk to being in special education to now being a 15 yr old honor student in non special education classes and is starting to look into colleges. I am 22 and my brother inspires me more then anything he's overcome so much . I believe that little Manny would be doing the same because he has such a great support system. Thanks for sharing. I also have an child with autism and I know how difficult it can be. We opted to not go with a traditional method as well. I want to completely clean up his foods, too. We're getting there slowly, but surely. I am interested in learning about the supplements in the packets. When my son was diagnosed he didn't make eye contact, only said 1-2 words (he would just grunt and make a high-pitched scream allll day), He didn't play with other kids and he didn't comprehend what was going on around him-even simple things, he wasn't even potty trained until a few days before his 7th birthday. I prayed for him and refused to give up on him... and I PUSHED him because I knew he was more than what his teachers and therapist said he could be. Today, he is in 2nd grade, can is WAAAAAAAAY more verbal, he can read, do math, he's potty trained, makes eye contact, plays with other children, and he understands what's going on around him. The icing on the cake was at his 7th birthday party last year he fully understood what was going on (in the past he would just sit there and not pay attention to any of the activities or people who came to his party). This year he smiled, opened his presents, hugged people, and TOTALLY planned his party himself. He told me what he wanted to eat, what kind of cake he wanted.... it was awesome. He's not where he should be, but he is leaps and bounds from where we started. Every milestone he makes is a miracle to me. God is truly faithful. I will be praying with you guys for your son. God is a healer and he can do miracles!

I broke down in tears when u guys starting talking about ur son, because it hit home for me. Everything u said from the doctors telling you he would never speak etc, is the same that happened with my younger brother when he was diagnosed at the age of two. Nobody in my family had ever heard of autism so we did not know how to deal with this, it broke us all, especially when they tell u things such as "he will never speak, he will never have a mind of his own etc" but 16 years later now my younger brother speaks fluent,and he knows what he wants, he is not there yet 100% but he will one day. Everything u said I felt like as if u were speaking of the situation me and my family had been through. having a brother with autism really changed my world as well i can not even express in words how he has changed my world, so when u guys started saying how little Manny has changed your world I totally knew what u were speaking of. I cannot express to u enough Alba how much more im in love with ur family now, i never knew ur son was autistic, and let me tell u this, he is a BLESSING from God and dont ever let anyone tell u otherwise. I love you guys and I wish u guys the best from the bottom of my heart.

Alba, Manny you two are amazing!!! I have always loved you two as a couple and always loved the messages you send to your audience. But hearing about how you changed your life for the welfare of your son, that speaks volumes about you two as human beings. My younger brother was diagnosed with autism at 14 months. I was almost 2 years old. There were so many things that i wished and still wish that i could have done more or differently. My brother is 28 years old now and still is nonverbal and severely autistic - It is a life changing situation to go through. But hearing you two bond together is so beautiful. I always wished my mom had that - but she did and continues to do the best she can as a single mom. You two keep being so wonderful and encouraging. Thank you for brightening my day.

Alba, I don't know if you understand how much this inspired me. I have two autistic brothers who are fully functional (although they do not speak). I love that you believe in your sons ability to improve. One of my brothers has begun to say hello and goodbye, and the other hums along to songs. They also play buddy ball with other autistic teenagers. Progress is beautiful no matter the shape it comes in. Thank you for this video.

Great job Alba and Manny.! Jenny McCarty pretty much has said the same thing you guys have about her son. She did research and discovered as soon as she removed certain things from her sons diet he started to respond in a positive way with his autism. Kudos to you both. I really believe it all starts with food for a lot of things when it comes to the human body so it does not surprise me you are having positive results. Hey! I loved hearing about your experience changing your sons diet and seeing positive results. My little brother was diagnosed with autism at 18 mts and the doctors said pretty much the same thing. That he would never talk, never be able to tie his shoes. Never be potty trained. Never be able to be in regular school. Basically to medicate him and accept that he will never be able to take care of himself. He has a twin sister who does not have autism and an 18 month older sister so my mom had her hands full. She put him in speech and occupational therapy because we like to take the most holistic routes possible. We also put him in sign language classes. Even though we did these things i was like no, my brother is capable of doing ALL of the things the dr said he couldnt. So we put i A LOT of work helping him to understand how to do whatever he needs to do. I taught him how to tie his shoes, he was potty trained at like 3. I just set aside an entire weekend to help him get potty trained and he has never had an accident since that weekend. He is now 9 and he is in regular school with his twin. He only has a shadow during some class subjects. He started talking when he was five and he is much better with eye contact. He can do anything any of his peers can do, some even better as he is getting recruited for the gifted program at his school. I commend yall for doing the research and helping your son in a non-invasive way. He has amazing parents and i KNOW he will eventually make a full recovery. It might take time, my brother has been recovering for 8 yrs and isnt fully recovered. But they will be okay :)

I am a 3rd year pharmacy student, and after learning about the side effects and honestly low efficacy rates of certain medications and understudied "FDA approved" drugs, you guys have my full support. If more Americans looked at diet, lifestyle, and other natural changes first,we'd be much better off in this world. I'm not saying medicine isn't beneficial, but people need to weigh the harms and benefits to their bodies. It's a FACT that with every medicine you take there will be a side effect. Many medications are great and harmless for temporary use, but to take a medicine for the rest of your life to fix one imbalance, unfortunately, will only cause something else to happen down the line. Drug companies take advantage of that and commercials and doctors keep advertising and prescribing drugs because patients now a days demand then, and no one wants to believe pharmacists are REAL doctors, when they are and honestly know the most about drugs. It's time for people to educate themselves. Prevention and clean eating is the way to go first and foremost. Medicine is great when the benefits outweigh the risks of your life without it. Alba and Manny, Your faith in God and great parenting skills will see you through. Little Manny will always be such a precious gift and blessing to your lives. May God continue to bless your family! Thank you for sharing such a intimate part of your lives, you will help many through sharing your story.

I agree with you 99% but being a type one diabetic I am dependent on insulin, without it I wouldn't be alive.
@TDBee0910 жыл бұрын
Illhan Issa Type I Diabetes is a completely different story and insulin is well, just that insulin. We ALL need that to live, it's not your fault and that along with other disease states in which there is only one treatment to solve a specific metabolic issues isn't what I'm referring to. I'm talking about drug companies and doctors too over prescribing medicines for people what has significant side effect and truly only increase life expectancy by a small percentage and can cause more problems in return, yet they continue to push it on the patient. No all drugs are bad and many are NEEDED (insulin, disease preventing vaccines, antibiotics, etc), however, many drug, especially in the US, are over prescribed, abused and misused and are causing more harm than good.
@elhanissa701810 жыл бұрын
Being a BSN Nursing student i experience the side effects and see the harm that these drugs have on my patients, and it is very saddening to say the least. But some of these people refuse to make the changes in their life that can, in return greatly reduce the needs for these medications. Some though, are at that point where they have no other choice but to take them in order to stay alive with their families, even if it means being alive for a couple months, and dealing with the side effects.
@TDBee0910 жыл бұрын
Illhan Issa I totally agree! There is a time for medicine but in America sometimes people are too lazy to make personal changes to benefit their health first. Medicine is necessary in many cases but should be used later down the therapy line instead of instantly! You wording is perfect!

Aisha Rousan You are a great NURSE!! I am thankful to know there's other people out in the healthcare team striving to educate patients of all their choices. My neighbor had T2DM and was able to beat it from lifestyle modifications and cinnamon tablets. She now has normal FBG levels and continues to watch her weight, but takes nothing else for it. I believe the creator equipped us with a body (if healthy) is capable of natural healing, however, if abused and misused and filled with chemicals it can be unable to do so. Keep up the great work in your field! I hope one daywork with nurses, PA, NP, technicians etc. like you who are able to think about what's truly best for patients in the long run!

So great what you are doing for your son. Truthfully, my husband is a pharmacist and despite that, I believe if we were in the same position we would also go the natural route. I think autism is one of those things that is just so specific to the individual, and there is still so much to be explored. Many drugs just keep children sedated and they take the life out of the child, it makes thinks easier for the parents in some cases but the child becomes lifeless. Keep up the amazing route you are taking, I hope it encourages others to think twice about their options. Keep inspiring boo! Xo.

Lifestyle is the key to good health. I practice the 8 laws of health. NEWSTART: nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, trust in God. Good nutrition fights diseases and builds the immune system. Exercise builds vitality and good health. A good amount of clean water hydrates and heals the body. Sunlight helps with metabolism and provides hormonal balance. Temperance and moderation keeps us balance because being excessive is harmful. Fresh air builds the immune system. Quality rest and sleep restore and heal the body. Trust in God is the best way to live. Less stress, less mental anguish, less depression, and overall positive well-being.

First, Welcome to Cali!!! Second, thank you for opening up about your son. I applaud what you and Manny are doing. Doctors are not trained in preventing illness or nutrition. They only know how to push new medications on people to cover up symptoms that never really cures anything. In 2011, I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and then the following year stage 3 cancer. When it rains it pours. After I got out of my numb stage, I started reading up on natural cures because there are too many people dying after taking chemo, etc. Long story short, I became the CEO of saving my own ass and stopped chemo, refused radiation (against docs advise) and turned to GOD in more ways than one. I am still cancer free and the Graves Disease, which the doctor said there was no cure for, I no longer show signs of having. I never took medication for this. Naturopathic doctors deserve way more respect. I probably would be half dead without mine.

I cannot imagine how heart wrenching it felt for a doctor to tell you that your son will never be able to have a normal life . I just cannot imagine how hard it was for you two. But you two are such great parents . When you said he now talks and gives eye contact after he was diagnosed as severely autistic I cried tears of joy. Go little Manny.

Alba you are one of the realist MUAs on here. I'm so glad you showed this side of you and shared your story about your son. Most MUA are shallow and narcissistic and give off the impression that their life is perfect. I'm so glad that you broke that cycle and showed what life is really about! And I totally support your healthy lifestyle! It radiates on your skin and inspires me

That's really admirable, I often wished that my mother didn't rely so much on medication to "control" my little brothers ADHD. He's only six and has taken more medication than I've ever have. I hope things continue to go well and many blessings to you and your family. :-)
@SkyeLikesHugs10 жыл бұрын
I know the feeling my brother has ADHD and was on tons of medication when he was younger, the medication eventually even led to him being diagnosed with anorexia at about age 7-9, but my mom was extremely uncomfortable with putting him through it all so she searched for a doctor that would actually help at least minimize how many pills he was taking. And she did, his newest doctor put him on Focalin (I hope I spelled that right), he is now 13 180-190 lbs (no longer anorexic) and 6ft tall, and a lot happier! So maybe there's something for ur lil bub too!

+JerricaNavarro A good diet helps with ADHD too. I've seen it work with kids with ADHD. Kids with ADHD definitely shouldn't eat anything with MSG, additives, preservatives, or most processed foods. There are certain chemicals injected in most meats that can have an effect on the brain.

I admire the fact that you took what others might consider a hardship and decided to NOT let it defeat you but teach you. I hope you continue to share your lives with us in this regard. We could all stand to learn more about the highlights and contours of your real life! ;) May God continue to bless you exceedingly and abundantly!!!!!!!

I think you guys are doing an amazing thing. I've worked with children all over the autism spectrum and soooo many times I've suggested to parents that switching up to a clean, healthy, organic diet has a tremendously positive effect on younger kids. And early intervention is everything. Stick to it! Bless you guys!

Yes Alba! Please elaborate more on what your doing with your son. My son was also diagnosed at 18 months. Which we thought it was too early but decided to do what we thought was best for him and what worked for us as a family since they really leave you on the air with no information whatsoever. Now at 5 yrs old he is doing wonderfully but I'm always open for new ideas and new things that might be able to help him even further. I did not know about the cider vinegar in the bath water...if you could go into more detail in what you use...I'll truly appreciate it. My lil one also has the curls too and is such a comedian...I though Manny was describing my boy 😂😂😂 Thank you for sharing.💞

Manny it's great that you are looking on the blogs and doing the research. I was raised by a single father and he didn't have a network of other father's like mothers do/did. I just wanted to tell you to stay encouraged. You and your wife are doing a great job and you are advocating for your child. It will pay off. He is a beautiful child. I don't have children but I have seen what happens when you don't stand in the gap for your children. God has his arms around your family. The two of you have encouraged me today. Little Manny has great parents. God bless!

Your story about your son really touched my heart. My brother was diagnosed at the age of two with autism and cerebral palsy and the doctors gave him a very similar prognosis- he wouldn't walk, talk, or in general be able to provide for himself. My parents worked so hard to make it easier for him and today not only does he walk and talk, he love telling me jokes when we talk on the phone (since I'm now in college and about 2,000 miles away), he plays soccer at Special Olympics, and is overall surpassing what any doctor could have predicted for him. I look up to you in so many ways for being able to become so involved in your son's diagnosis and trying to help him succeed. Since I've been involved in the special needs community pretty much my entire life, i've seen so many parents of autistic children try to treat them like normal children and not support their individual needs, or even worse try to act like they don't exist. You are doing what you, as a parent, believe is right, and that is the best thing you can do for your him. Thank you so much for sharing this portion of your life with the world because it truly does help viewers like me understand that there are other people out there struggling with the same problems and overcoming the same obstacles. Id love to see more videos about your amazing son and your family in the future :)

This inspires me so much. My older brother, now 37, has suffered from what our mother calls "mild autism" his whole life. However, he was never properly diagnosed as a child, and my parents never properly followed through on treatment let alone healthy lifestyle changes. He was simply stuck in special ed and his "problem" was just kind of ignored and he was often shamed for his behavior. I would love to talk to him about the things mentioned here, like diet and lifestyle changes, that might help him even now. I'd love to make those changes with him, in my own life, if he were interested. You guys are exemplary parents. You were honest in facing what your son truly needed to be healthy and happy, and let go of what others might think. That takes some serious courage. You guys are AWESOME!!

Alba and Manny: God bless you first for keeping God first and having the courage to say NO in caring for your son and his struggles with Autism. I too understand what it's like to have a Dr. look at you make an assumption and expect you to place your confidence in human intellect. Thank goodness we serve a God who knows our every need. I would love for you guys to continue to be that voice of reasoning for many who aren't strong enough to say NO. Let Manny's little light shine in the hearts and lives of others who need to be pointed in the right direction. When Jesus lived on earth, even as God himself in the flesh, he faced opposition, so then who are we? If God be for you, who can be against you? I'll be praying for you guys.

Have you implemented essential oils in your home? I personally have undergone a kidney transplant. My husband, my hero, was my donor. Over these last TEN years of God keeping this kidney healthy and me taking responsibility for my own health, I've had some, not all, incompetent doctors to say the least. They told me when I went vegan and switched to eating organics I was in the wrong, but as of late encourage me to keep doing whatever I'm doing? So I'm quick to tell them no because this is my body and if anyone is gonna be experimenting (with fine tuned research of course) it's gonna be me. So long story short, I've been applying all that I've learned as a health nut and taking it a bit further I'm going for my masters degree in "holistic" nutrition with the American College of Health and Science online this fall. I'm also using DoTerra essential oils and thinking of becoming a distributor. If you haven't already, look into the benefits of essential oils and remember THE "Great Physician" can give you wisdom in taking care of yourself and your family if only you ask. Matthew 21:22 (I love God and His promises. How simply his word is, but many don't understand that his benefits are for his children only and WHOSOEVER will accept him as SAVIOUR can be exactly.) that.)

The conversation on your son is beautiful. Reminds me of my parents while I was growing up with many health issues (severe asthma, eczema, allergies, and surgery) I'm getting back on the health kick again now that I'm older and thought I "grew out" of those issues since I was "cured" for 4 years by steroids. The recent year it all came back (I think from change of routine, maybe stress, but I've been stressed majority of my life so that doesn't make any sense), but I'm on my road to healthy living and taking it serious to be my best self. Keep doing what you guys are doing, very inspirational and stay strong and relying on God. I look forward to viewing updates. Best!

This video brought me to tears. I am so happy that you made a conscious choice to provide your son with healthy choices that were not dependent on medication and that his "diagnosis" has not doomed him or you but has given you a better quality of life. I teach courses about "exceptionalities" to prospective teachers and it is amazing how having a child who is "atypical" can either make families stronger or tear them apart. Praise God that you have become stronger, wiser, and healthier from the blessing of your precious son.

He had 3 open heart surgeries. Our lifestyle changes have impacted him in such a positive way that our doctors say keep doing what your doing. As parents we know what is best and sometimes it's hard but it will pay off. Thanks for sharing your story with us and god bless your family. Xoxoxo

The end bit to this video was very touching. I have a little brother with severe autism, my parents are not very educated on his condition; however this video has really helped to show that there are better alternatives than just medications. The only thing is my little brother is almost 15 years old, has a really poor diet - so as a result is now extremely overweight. I wish my parents had done what yourself and hubby did, I'm positive this would have made a great impact in my little brother's life - I know it's never too late. God bless the both of you and always remember that you're not doing this alone. x

When I came across you videos I was loosing hope in love(which is very important to me) and trying to be a good person like you. I feel like God lead me to your videos so that he can show me that one day I can have the a loving husband and a beautiful family, if I have faith in the promise he made for us. I know you get a lot of fan mail and you probably won't get to read this but you changed my life by giving me hope thank you. Oh I am being healthy now seeing that other people are doing it not just my family, so every time I am about to eat something unhealthy I think "what would alba do?" :)

Good things come to those who wait. God has the perfect man for you, just focus on your journey and path and life and when you can handle having him in your life and are ready for that step, God will send him your way. He'll be your best friend, greatest support, and will one day make you his wife. Don't settle for less, you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. I used to feel that everyone seemed to have IT and maybe I didn't. Well I didn't have "IT" the party spirit, the hoochiness, I had morals and values and sometimes I was ashamed, but God is true and loving, all the things you do to be a good person by striving to do your will, he will reward in ways you can't image. You'll get your dream husband and family, just keep that faith in God and he won't let you down :)

I don't really leave comments, but I just had to say that your family's story really touched me. I work with severely autistic children and know how difficult it can be for parents. But to know that your son has developed eye contact and even language skills based on the natural treatment route you choose for him, is amazing! I really do hope you and your husband will continue making videos and bringing more awareness to other autistic children's parents on the natural alternatives for treatment. I commend you both! I have been a subscriber of yours for a while now and just want to say you have inspired me to change my lifestyle as well. Currently purchasing Dr. Mercola's shower filter.. lol. I am glad you guys are being so honest. I have to sons with autism. One with severe autism and the other high functioning autism. I am glad you guys are doing what you are doing. That way you don't have wonder what if. My sons are now grown and I am experiencing new things with them. I can say that there are new laws that are so beneficial for our sons. I chose different paths for my sons based on their needs. I homeschool the high functioning one until high school then used a charter virtual/motor high school for him. It was a lot of work, but he now has a diploma and is going to college. My other son has aged out of the school system and now I work from home with him with me most of the day. Life is good. I learned a long time ago to be happy because my sons are. This is their lives and I am here to make the best I can. God is in control of it all.

I firmly believe that the natural way is the better way, we gotta return to our original roots. keep it up Alba,Manny and lil Manny ;) xx
