2:45 Taj guesses all 4 of them correctly .. 4:03 these are traditional Newari house and you can see within courtyard the old houses with wooden carved windows. 6:58 Cheuala (marinated buff) it will be room temperature and that is how you eat it, one of the best newari dish I love it. 7:07 Yomari is a sweet dish with the filling of sesame seeds and chaku ( it is kind of sweet made out of sugarcane juice) but now a days chocolate is used as well. Some places they have yomari ( made of rice flour) with the filling of khuwa ( kind of condensed milk). If you guys have watched Masterchef UK professional 2022, one of the Nepali chef made this dish. Bara can be plain, with egg or mince meat on top. 9:50 Smay baji ( baji means beaten rice) this our as I am also newar is a traditional meal, we have this on occasions like Dashain, Tihar or any festivals. generally it has beaten rice, black soyabeans, black eye beans, bara, boiled and then fried egg, aalo achar , potato, bamboo and black eye beans soup, saag ( greens), potato, cucumber, carrot and achar . in the middle it was black soya beans and ginger slices. Yes the buff meat item you are eating and saying it's spicy, it is called choila "buff choila" , "pork choila", "chicken choila" etc and yes it's cold, it is meant to be cold for better test and texture. We dont have such thing as warm choila, doesnt exist, but if people want, it can be warmed in a microwave or in a fry pan but that is not proper choila anymore. Choila is basically BBQ meat and chopped into desired pieces then merinated with spices and served 🍽

The beans you were wondering were soybeans( roasted one) and the black soybeans with ginger in the middle. Newari cuisine is the best food in Nepal 🇳🇵

Traditionally yomari is eaten during yomari punhi (punhi means full moon). Yomari punhi is like after the rice harvesting period around november and december as yomari is made from rice flour. The more traditional one would be of chaku one which is more sweet than the one you tried.

Yes that first meat dish is called "choila", it is 'buff choila'. And in samaya bhaji is "chicken choila". Choila is always meant to be cold. That's the normal

I’ve met Nepalese tourists few years ago at Resorts World Manila Mcdonalds. I shared table with them since it was packed with customers… they were friendly and they asked me what did I know about Nepal… good I remember Asian history… Mt. Everest! :) 😊

(Choila ) Yes that's meant to be cold.they boli the meat and further grill with fire and marinate with spices.(Yomari ) a kind of pie made out of rice flower and inside Chaku or khoa etc
