dude mo:mo are not tibetian dish , their dumplings and our dumplings are totally diffrent and momo were created in kathmandu valley by the local newars , even the name mo:mo itself is a newari word

Yes Nepali momo looks different and taste different than other dumplings but doesn’t change the fact that Newari people brought the recipe from Tibet. If you don’t know anything don’t try to be over smart.

Momo is originally from Nepal, Kathmandu. To know its history you have to go back to Lichavi dynasty of Nepal . Buddhism and Momo not from China or Tibet but it went from Nepal to Tibet then China then everywhere with our Princess Vrikuti when she had to marry King of Tibet.
@kapil4417037 Жыл бұрын
Sorry bro but momo was from tibet. Initially momo was only famous among Tuladhars of newari communitu, as they were the main traders to tibet, they would come home marrying tibetan girl with lots of gold as dowry. They were the one who learned cooking momos from tibet. For many years it was popular only among tuladhars community. Later other newar also learned to cook. Then finally it went to other nepali community.
@koshishrajmaharjan86 Жыл бұрын
What I heard from my grandparents: Newars from Kathmandu, learned about Momo when they went to Tibet for trades. But the momo in Tibet were different than what we have today. Those Newars experimented momo with buff meat and spices. This led to a different version of momo due to their combinations, which became popular in no time.

Awesome video. There are still so many foods belonging to specific castes and tribes in Nepal which are still waiting to be discovered by outside world. You will need to know the locals to try some food as they wont serve them in restaurants. Some for examples are Kinima, Gundruk, Simki, Filingey ko Achar etc These foods are more common to the Eastern part of Nepal. So Rai and Limbu caste people would be right ones to ask about these. All the best. Keep exploring Keep enjoying!!! 🇳🇵 🙏🏼 ✌🏼

Even some tourists compare our own Food with Indian foods they looks similar and they say it's Indian food without knowing anything🤪.. Nepal shared the borders with 2 countries China and India so we have little bit similar culture and Foods that's way we are same... It's sad to see Tourist are giving credit to other countries for our Own Foods..🇳🇵 Thanks for Visiting our Country🙏
@melissadunton3534 Жыл бұрын
This is how food evolves in all countries, states, provinces, territories, etc… Everyone has some traditional foods that are eaten because of what is available locally. Then their food culture changes over time as more people migrate to other areas and bring with them the foods that they had available where they previously resided. Then you also get a lot of additions to the local diet through the influence of the people who are adjacent to the area… the counties and territories that surround that place end up sharing a huge part of their food culture and borrow a lot from your food cultures as well. That’s what makes food culture so very interesting and lovely. Even here in the United States our food changes greatly from state to state. It’s been heavily influenced by the people who’ve immigrated to the US as well as some influence from the indigenous peoples. Then we even have a lot of differences within states…from town to town and county to county. Look at California; for instance. In Los Angeles and surrounding areas the food culture is heavily influenced by Mexican Americans. But if you go up North in California you’ll find a lot of Italian inspired food culture. I personally live in the Northeastern part of Pennsylvania. We have a huge German community in this part of the state, as well as Polish and Ukrainian. So our food culture has heavily evolved to include those types of foods along with a lot of indigenous types of foods, as the Native American people also had large communities in this area of the state/country. My grandparents lived in an area of the States that was heavily influenced by English culture as well as Dutch and Russian cultures. So, I was lucky enough to grow up with the privilege of experiencing a lot of different foods and people. But nothing that I grew up eating would I consider only “Pennsylvanian food”. Even though it is what most ppl in my state eat….it’s evolved to be what it is today and not much of it is the original food. So, having many influences in Nepal within your food culture is an absolutely lovely way to live and eat and to share who you are all while others are sharing who they are. Together you’ve become the modern Nepalese that we all love and cherish today!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day…week….year…life!!!!! Much love from Pennsylvania in the US. ✌🏻💕😃

I get its natural for foreigner to sort of relate food to what they have had before but reducing Nepalese food to "mix of Chinese and Indian" food that what really is offensive cause food the foreigners try are barley anything compared to the food that various ethnicities of nepal has to offer cause they are super delicious !!!
