Some tips after watching this video. 1. You could have had a meal at Maxwell Food Centre before going towards Woodlands North. It is located just opposite the entrance of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (same side of the road at 1:43). Maxwell Food Centre has a stall called Heng Heng Ondeh-Ondeh and Tapioca Cake. Their Ondeh-Ondeh (pronounced as 'On Day-On Day', consists of a palm sugar filled round tapioca ball that is boiled to melt the sugar filling into liquid and coated with grated coconut) and Tapioca Cake (consists of Steamed Tapioca Cake made from Water, Grated Cassava, Coconut Cream and Sugar, then coated with grated coconut) are their bestsellers. Do note that some of the popular stalls like Heng Heng open very early and close around lunchtime, so if you want to patronise such stalls, go to Maxwell Food Centre at around 9am or 10am to have the most food options. 2. Just outside the entrance of Takashimaya at 7:41 and seen as 3 different coloured beach umbrellas at 7:53, you can find a famous ice-cream uncle selling ice-cream. He is one of the few ice-cream uncles that sells both block ice-cream (which is the Peppermint ice-cream with bread that you tried in a previous video) and scoop ice-cream (as the name suggests, it means the uncle opens a lid that leads to a deep metal drum, takes an ice-cream scoop and begins scooping the ice-cream onto bread or an ice-cream cone or into a plastic cup). Do note that for the scoop ice-cream, only 4 flavours are available. For the ice-cream uncle outside Takashimaya, the 4 flavours he offers (which is visible once it is your turn to order) are chocolate, corn, attap chee (pronounced as 'Ah Tarp Chi', which is Nipa Palm Fruit and coloured pink, which many people mistake for strawberry flavour) and peanut (he is the only ice-cream uncle that I know who sells peanut flavour as part of the 4 flavours in scoop ice-cream). 3. At around 19:40 to 19:41, I believe you mentioned 'you can hear the birds', I would like to kindly correct you on that point. The surrounding sound that you are hearing does not come from birds, it comes from cicadas. If you are lucky, you can sometimes see a cicada resting on the tree trunk while making that sound.

There is an elevator on the right(near the sarong station), you can see the sign at 3:16 in the video. i belive the tooth relic is on lvl 4 and other relics on lvl 2 & 3, i might not remember correctly but i think pictures/videos are not allowed. you need to take 1 flight of stairs up to the rooftop garden(lvl 5) with a gigantic "prayer wheel"? do consider going back just to view it, even if off camera. then enjoy more food across the road at Maxwell hawker centre or 2 other hawker areas in the chinatown vicinity.

People who come into Singapore thinking that it is a Malay or China related countries, usually are surprised. Not because Singapore is extraordinary (it is BTW) but because of their mindset with which they bring with. Singaporeans are used to people in US, UK and France, thinking that we HAVE TO SPEAK Mandarin (if you meet a ethnically Chinese person). And quite often when we tell them we are from Singapore (when we are overseas), they ask, "Which part of China is that?" I think we are used to it now.

There is an urban myth about the Buddha Tooth Temple. It goes like this: Historically, Sago lane, used to be a street with many funeral parlours. In addition to handling funeral matters, these funeral parlours also set up “places to recuperate from illness”, which provided shelter for chronically and terminally ill patients. Thus it also known as "dying / dead people street". Some people claimed that wandering spirits were still seen from time to time in spite of the place being rebuilt and repurposed for other business since 1982. As a result, the Buddha Tooth relic temple was constructed right next to it, where a tooth of the Buddha was brought in so that together with the daily chanting of Buddhist sutras, the wandering spirits will find their way to reincarnation. :P
