Hey I think you should try to do some snow boarding in Maine. I live up there and the snow is really good

The aspen groves on the west side are a killer, create your own line paradise, especially if you happen to visit on a pow day😎. Add in the cheap lift tickets, and cheap food in the lodge, free parking, no/minimal lines.... Sunlight is a great value!

Here in glenwood we also have the world’s largest hot springs pool, it’s like 25ish minutes from the mountain and a great way to relax after skiing.

Sunlight is a hidden gem as others have said. They have so much available terrain they can build into, but they're working on the $$ for it last I heard!

It requires a lot of permission is the main thing. I worked there for 5 seasons in maintenance. But the land the ski area is on is actually leased by sunlight the company from cattle owners who own the land and Sunlight’s lease is for only during the ski season that’s why we’re pretty picky with when we open and close no matter how much snow we have. That’s why if you go up in the summer there’s always someone in the cabin by the lake off the access road. And cattle everywhere. The land the ski area is on is actually a mountain called mount compass, sunlight mountain (proper) is directly across looking down towards the parking lot where you see all the snowmobiles going up.

The closest workable airport is called Eagle County Regional - between Gypsum and Eagle - it has cheap-ish flights sometimes, definitely worth checking out. I have even gotten affordable -ish flights out of Aspen before - landing in Aspen is not for the easily scared! The Glenwood Springs area has so much to do - the hot springs are amazing - might be my favorite place for a vacation. Lived in Glenwood for 4 years and had a season pass at Sunlight - feels like traveling back in time 30 or 40 years!

the lifts we keep because they are history, I ran them for four years and just switched departments this season. they are the oldest running ski lifts in north America. specifically Segundo. it was bought and installed in 1950 something and is one of the last original center pole ski lifts. top speed is 7mph and takes aprox 12 minutes from load to unload. we will not be adding another lift but we will be replacing Segundo with a new detachable lift on the same route.

Absolutely loved sunlight when I went. Just got done ripping beaver creek and quite frankly I would rather pay less and get more laps with less people on sunlight than go back to beaver creek…
