As a past 175 owner, (not a cool mod though) I think the “well that was too easy, let’s find something more challenging” phase is mandatory. Every new sled has it but something about knowing you have *all of the track* is pure trouble 😂

Skidoo and polaris just dropped the 175's. In my opinion they should still offer it as a snow check
@MuskokaFreerider9 сағат бұрын
Definitely not changing history here but the 175 life was dying out for sure. Everyone wants a 146 these days so they can do bow ties and hop overs, which is fine. Leaves the difficult access areas for guys like me haha Ski doo will probably bring back the 175 option, there’s still demand for them.

kids crazy carpet material is a good stiff material to make snow spray shields at the end of the tunnel -- its not brittle in the cold -- weve used it for many sled projects including light weight custom hoods

Im insanely jealous of the sheer amount of snow you guys have, we here and Alaska barely have enough to fart around on the trails let alone have some serious fun. Shits lame. Last 3 winters there was easily 4' plus on the ground at this time.
@davidbrennan56 сағат бұрын
That sled sure looks capable. Tunnel extension is easy just get an aluminum sheet and have it bent up with a brake press. Mark it where to need to cut it and cut it to length. You will most likely need a custom longer snow-flap, that should help with the cooling.

to extend your tunnel cover a little bit was thinking the head ( or scoop) of a plastic shovel that is 15 or 16 in. wide might work. you could cut , to shape it. just leave enough of the side to give it rigidity.and easy to remove

Skidoo brp needs to make a ultralight snowmobile for trail making and mountain trail making. The ultralight trail blazer like this mod. And maybe put your rear bumper bar backer like 6 inches and just add a lightweight plastic cover on it. Or get a longer rear bumper.
@riverratt862610 сағат бұрын
I new the roost was going to get thrown up onto your back, should be an easy fix, also gearing and clutching will really help it out along with the extra hood vents. Sled looks good and I am glad it works great, just save it for the really deep days. Are you just using a helmet head light for coming out at end of day, or a handlebar mount one ? Trail Tech location ?

That thing looks like it jumps foreword and quickly gets foreword momentum on steep stuff.. the lightweight stuff must make a huge difference! It’s hard to justify the price of all the lightweight stuff but watching it on snow makes it seem worth it!
@MuskokaFreerider9 сағат бұрын
It gets on top of the snow extremely fast between the lightweight and 175. The mods were expensive but you can build an “affordable lightweight build” for about 8-10k where you drop 40lbs
