Lol here's a snippet on the LP from this albums release in 2008: "In the attempt to preserve the pure aesthetic of the intent of this release the album will not be available in any digital format. We have serviced a small amount of LP promos to journalists we hope will appreciate this." I guess they realized that you can't survive in the digital age without it lol.

The digitalisation of every day life brings great comforts, access to knowledge and social contacts but for a performance art show like they do, bass massage included, it isnt the optimal format, never the less im happy they made it available. Sure YT quality is nowhere near Vinyl but as .wav with decent bitrate there is just the underlying crackle of analog technology that most people wouldnt even recognize.

Hearing this music, it makes me imagine a feeling of meeting a supreme being, but when meeting him realising that he wasn't a benevolent being in the firstplace, and was a terrifiying malicious entity beyond the wildest nightmares of the greatest creators of horror in literary history. And then being awestruck by both the majesty and fear.

what they do isn't really that new. it's done since the early 1900's, but they do so on a very great technical level and combine this kind of soundscaping into metal in a very unique style they got. also, their performance is absolutely amazing. so while it's not new, it's still awesome.

No and no. You're really missing out if you think this horrible track is in any way representative of their work. First off, the vocals are tone deaf, histrionic, and clash badly with the tonality in the equally bland and uncharacteristic organ part, which sounds like a bad mimic of Koyaanisqatsi on an inferior instrument. My favorite Sunn O))) work sounds completely different: for example Black 1, Flight of the Behemoth, White 1 (especially My Wall with Julian Cope), ØØ Void, and Kannon is decent as well. Compare also a few of the Earth albums up on youtube, and you'll see they are better than this.

TGS is right, its Early Modern/High Middle English. To a modern English speaker it sounds like the author might be addressing God, due to its association with the King James Bible, but that's speculation regarding the author's intent.
@shaungardiner32486 жыл бұрын
In case it's useful, it's a line taken from a poem by William Blake, called 'To Nobodaddy', so though the language is archaic it's actually from the Romantic era, the 18th/19th century.

Raul Rafael idk it's drone metal. I still like some of their other songs a lot better than this one. This one is simply "okay" in my own opinion. It Took the Night to Believe is probably one of my favorites by them. It's extremely dark and rather bass heavy, which is the type of stuff I enjoy in any genre of music.
