I have been watching so many vlogs about Japan because my family is planning to be there early next year, this is so far the best Video, the best Vibe I have seen. The BRolls, the information, the music is so on point and very well edited. +1 Subs
Enkouji's garden for example was just...🤯. It's one that I haven't visited yet, and I have been to quite a few, including less accessible ones like Genko-an's. Beautiful vlog, thanks guys 🙇♂ Japanese maple tree (A. Palmatum) is one of the most beautiful trees anywhere, but when autumn arrives and the leaves change colour it's game over, nothing like it. Add to it the most refined tradition of garden design and beautiful Japanese temples and you get Kyoto's gardens, the absolute top. (good thing they declared the old imperial capital a UNESCO world heritage site, I can't think of a place more deserving )

Aww thanks for this, feeling so prepared for March! 😊❤ Will the maple tunnel be as stunning and worth visiting in Spring? ☺️ EDIT: Also thanks for the airolo (?) bit, I love the tutorial I wouldn’t be able to know how to set the eSim 🙃 Wonder if it’ll work with Telstra?
@Sunny_in_Japan14 күн бұрын
Have an amazing time in March! I’m not sure about the maple tunnel, I don’t know when the leaves will come in If you’re getting an eSIM for travel in Japan, Telstra theoretically shouldn’t affect the network outside of Australia 🇦🇺🧐 but if you have any issues you’re best reaching out to Airalo directly

Another lovely video. I’m hoping to head to Kyoto next week and will use this as a guide. I’m spending Christmas in Osaka this year and would love to know anywhere that offers a really Christmassy atmosphere (lights, markets etc. etc.). My understanding is that Christmas isn’t hugely celebrated in Japan but I may be wrong.
@Sunny_in_JapanАй бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Japan doesn’t celebrate Christmas in the sense that western countries do, but they still get really into the festive spirit! Lots of illuminations and night markets (most big cities will be doing something I think) Christmas is not a public holiday, but new years is. I think there is a market running in Tennoji Park, and illuminations up along Midousuji

I’m glad you enjoying the videos 😊 Major cities like Tokyo Osaka etc are pretty well equipped for English and other languages, with signs and train announcements in English. Restaurants will also advertise out the front if they have an English menu, but I would recommend having Google translate or another translation app handy! Hi, I really liked your video, you and your partner have done an amazing job with the filming and editing. I will be going to Japan in September this year for the first time. My first stop will be Osaka to spend two days at the world expo. I will be in Japan for 30 days, how many days would you recommend for Osaka? And how many days in Kyoto would you recommend? My last stop will be Tokyo before going back home. Cheers Mick
@Sunny_in_Japan14 күн бұрын
Thanks Mick! Wow a 30 day trip sounds exciting! It’s really hard to say how long you should stay at each place because it’s so different depending on your interests. But kyoto and Osaka are 30 minutes apart by train which makes staying in either very convenient! If you want to explore slowly, you could easily spend a week between the two, even for your first trip, but many faster travellers I know also say one day in Osaka is enough, so it varies greatly

@Sunny_in_Japan thanks for replying. We are from Melbourne Australia. We went at the end of October to first week of November. Unfortunately too early for leaves to change. Thinking of going maybe January winter 2026? Wondering if too cols. Don't want to go to skiing, just Tokyo and maybe Kyoto and Nagano for snow monkeys?
@Sunny_in_JapanАй бұрын
Yea unfortunately the autumn leaves were a bit late this year Winter in Tokyo / Kyoto is perhaps only a couple of degrees colder than Melbourne? And sometimes Kyoto snows I can’t speak to Nagano, but I think the snow monkeys area will be a bit colder Also please note the first 2-3 days of January, many things are closed
@melgordon2490Ай бұрын
@Sunny_in_Japan when did the autumn leaves change become really pretty red? I absolutely loved Kyoto and Nara. My teen son of course preferred Tokyo especially Akihabara as he loves anime 🙄. He did love the deers at Nara and the monkey Park though. Is it cheaper and less busy after the first few days of Jan like from the 4th onwards? Are you loving living in Japan or do you miss Australia?

#2 Short term memory problem here: was this recorded in November?
Wow the amount of people at Kiyomizu! I was there around 7 like 3 weeks ago and there was like a third of that, but also a third of red leaves haha. Barely. Absolutely love Kamogawa river. We happened to see deers in the river a bit more north of the city.

Thank you for the wonderful video! However... I would like you to not only tell people about the good things about Japan, but also to tell them about the importance of following manners and rules. Since people are enjoying Japan, I would like them to follow the local culture and rules even if it is a hassle. This is because there are more foreigners these days, and more people with bad manners. It's sad.
Definitely number 2! The framing is insane. I am living vicariously through your autumn videos. I visited in late October, but wasn't lucky enough to see any change in colour.
@Sunny_in_JapanАй бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊 Yeah, autumn was a bit later than usual this year
Nice video... Japan is cool for holiday, for tourists, but to live here regular Japanese life is disaster. Neverending struggle with stupidity of Japanese management. So better to don´t move here and just enjoy sometimes as a traveller :D
