Ned didn’t get fired because he had an affair; Ned was fired because he had a sexual relationship with a subordinate of the company he was one of 4 owners of. And this may not be a big deal to everyone, but running a business can have a lot of legal liability and having sex with your employees is one of those. If she had filed a lawsuit saying she was forced into that relationship because he was her boss, it would have tanked the whole company.

@incubabe

@@mjdevlog It's still bad even if both parties consented to it. Ned was one of the 4 owners of the company, he was one of the bosses pretty much. And the woman he was having an affair with was an employee. It would have potential favoritism and show inappropriate behavior in the work space. If anyone were to find out, the Tri-Guys would have to face severe punishment for something Ned did. It just wouldn't be fair. Ned being in a relationship with an employee in the workspace would've and could've destroyed the whole company.

Good to see Dankula rising to be a stand-up dad and showing how unfair the litigation process was on his case. Also the rest of the videos just revealed how terrible the other KZbinrs are behind the smiles and thumbnails. Edit: just to add on Dankula. The company didn't fire Ned because he cheated on his wife with another. That alone would be a personal issue for him to resolve. At most he would have gone on leave to "rehabilitate" and work on his marriage/divorce. HOWEVER, because he was having the affair with a coworker (a subordinate at that), then it's a company problem as they can be held liable in any possible lawsuit that crops up. They fired him to make a clear stand that they don't support this sort of thing, basically doing so to clear their name.

Heres layers to it, on one level it could definitely be iffy for the company legally. if the woman came out and said she felt coerced the company would be at risk of a lawsuit, by not seriously reprimanding it thats the company to some degree approving of his actions. On the second layer, ned's brand was his family life. He made his career specifically as a dad and husband, that was part of his online persona to an incredibly degree. By doing this not only did he damage his reputation which can be fixed, opened the company up to a lawsuit, but he has to rebuild his brand. The company gets nothing but risk retaining him, but gets good press and relieves themselves of liability by getting rid of him.

It's still something quite a few people remember him by (though it isn't the only controversy he's had during his career). That being said I don't think it ruined his image. A little over a year later he had the T-series battle which would gain him an astronomical number of subscribers, and he has only continued to thrive since. What Alexia cries describing, how jstation treated her in private, is exactly how narcissists almost universally treat their partners behind closed doors. People are drawn to them because they are outwardly confident and aloof and they seem fun to be around but behind closed doors they're almost universally monsters. They won't ALWAYS treat you badly, usually when they feel like throwing you a carrot to keep you around so they can abuse you more, or if others can see. This leads to the abused person latching unto the good parts and then desperately hoping they can "fix" the person so the bad parts stop happening, but the bad parts cannot and will not ever stopped. In the same way you or I may feel a compulsion to apologize when we make a mistake that affects someone, narcissists feel a compulsion to manipulate, abuse, and control. It's part of them forever and never changes. All you can do is attempt to mitigate their destruction. All the way down to triangulate his ex by accusing her of being crazy and trying to recruit others to his side. Another side-effect of narcissism is an inability to truly ever take responsibility for anything negative, as well as a problem fully grasping how normal people feel. This is why the "dead girlfriend" schtick he pulled was so tone-deaf.

I just watched Logan's Japan vlog for the first time today and it's alot worse than how social media described it. His first response to seeing the dead body was "yo, are you f*cking with us?" (to the dead body). They got closer to the dead man, never stopped recording, and made jokes when they were just a few feet from him. I knew it was bad but I didn't know it was this bad, their responses were literally psychopathic. He was 23 when this happened. I'm glad the internet knew to put him in his place.

@TropicalPower His mistake wasn't not blurring the corpse enough, he was just acting like an outright psychopath. I agree with you that some people deal with stressful situations differently, but that's not what Logan did here. He went into a forest (that besides being called the black forest is also called "Japan's sui*ide forest") knowing he might run into a dead body, all the while wearing an alien hat on his head, making jokes with his friends and filming the entire thing. He then got closer and closer to the dead body that they found until he eventually stood right in front of it and without hesitation began filming it. He then made the most idiotic decision of them all and decided to upload the entire thing on his YT channel for his young fanbase to see. In the vlog Logan displayed the maturity level of a 4 year old. You saying that his mistake wasn't the way that he acted but rather the fact that he didn't fully blur the body is ridiculous, and the nitpicking in saying that he was 22 and not 23 (even though factually he was 22 and 9 months old) has nothing to do with the point that I was making - he was old enough to handle the situation in a completely different way but he failed to do so.
@EiTaknown

@TropicalPower It's not a fake persona if that's who he's become. That's how he chose to display himself in front of the internet, we can't just ignore the stuff that he does/says on his vlogs just because it's "a persona" - that's like people harassing others but acting like it's okay because "it's a prank". As for him still being relevant: you don't have to be smart/talented to succeed on the internet, it's full of young kids and complete idiots. It's not hard nowadays to become "Hollywood successful" - there's countless amounts of people who make more money than they know how to spend by doing absolutely nothing that will help them grow as humans. Onlyfans girls, tiktokers, KZbinrs and "Influencers" are good examples of that (without generalizing of course, not all of them are like that). Maybe you can help me understand where you're coming from, cause I'm still confused as to why anyone would side with him when it comes to this vlog. Even Logan himself wasn't stupid enough to not realize that what he did was wrong.

The guy is an imbecile and to this day he not only continues to be an imbecile but also a scammer, there's nothing positive about him and the influence he has over young people is deplorable. I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven, I'm simply here to apologize. So what we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned, and the reactions you saw on tape were raw, they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react, or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through. There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn’t, and for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I want to apologize to the Internet. I want to apologize to anyone who's seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness, or depression, or suicide, but most importantly, I want to apologize to the victim and his family. For my fans who are defending my actions, please don't. They do not deserve to be defended. The goal with my content is always to entertain, to push the boundaries, to be all inclusive in the world I live in. I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel, or malicious. Like I said, I've made a huge mistake. I don't expect to be forgiven, I'm just here to apologize. I'm ashamed of myself. I'm disappointed in myself and I promise to be better. I will be better. Thank you.

I’m fine with him being more surface level for videos, as it’s better for the yt algorithm and for his own career though I personally think these type of videos are worse, but if you’re going to make more surface level videos, do NOT make false claims or not backed up claims about something, and especially someone. That Skeppy video got millions of views, and tons of people thought and still do think Skeppy is a bad human from that video (which he might be, we have no idea, but the issue is Sunny’s claims in that video are almost all false), probably still effecting Skeppy and his reputation still now

@@3bohaw75 sunny made a video ragging on MrBeast and Chris (I think is her name, maybe her deadname?), who recently came out as trans. One of the Cardinal sins of the internet is attacking MrBeast, and sunny, well, he did.

Tbh pewds made a whole generation know how f'd up and rigged the media is, and since that point, pewds proved to his fans(most importantly) and colleagues countless of times of how good he is, he still has the respect and the starstrucking factor to even the biggest youtubers and streamers right now, as proved in the among us and covid era, now he is retired, doing whatever he want, living his happiest life, with a legacy that no one can ever replicate on youtube.

A legacy that no one over the age of 25 knows or cares about. Some legacy...

@@deoderantguy1 damn you really missed out then, he has a very high percentage of viewers in their 30's and even 40's, he has been on youtube for more than 10 years, so even if you were 20 the time you first watched him, it means you are 30 now, also his legacy is internet wide as he was at one point the literal king of the internet, so whomever was on the internet felt or knew about him, even if you don't watch him, this is history, it's not an age thing, too much deodorant seems to have ruined some brain cells.

Dank's "controversy" was just an example of what happens when you live in a country with no natural right of free speech and a society that has lost the knowledge of what a joke is. Dank still going strong and being a free speech icon shows that he certainly did not "ruin his image".
