Sunset and Nature Nerding on Monkey Mountain with Mexitreks, Sayulita, Mexico

Clay and I head up Monkey Mountain for sunset with Mexitreks. On the way up we learned about the ecosystem and some of the important and interesting plants of the area. We caught the sunset and headed out in the dark to catch some of the cool night critters. And ants, so many ants in this video.

spijkerpoes Haha. She’s a little camera shy I guess. Does being overworked count as something terrible? I’m actually getting more sleep with a newborn than I was when I was teaching (I do miss my students though).

Nice to see precious Miss Mountain Girl. I can only imagine her growing up an adventurer with you and Clay. That was a wonderful day trip you shared with us. The young man certainly knew his stuff. I hope Clay got to feeling better quickly. Thanks for sharing Carley.

Clay was pretty much better by the next day. The irony is that he is much more cautious about food than me (I'm not stupid about it, but I do like culinary adventures). I thought I had dodged the bullet, but got sick a few days later. In my case, I suspect it was from surfing in sewage water. It's hard not to swallow water when you're being tossed about.

Maybe it's one of those things only I notice because I know what it usually sounds like. I found that between wind and background noises while walking it was hard to hear, but I made my best to cut out the worst parts without losing anything interesting.

I rally enjoyed that Carley. In fact I found it very mellow as i listened to the knowledge of the guide. Some pretty far out bugs there at the end. It's a predatory world for sure. Hope they do. We decided to go to Puerto Vallarta becauseit was the cheapest flight somewhere warm, but we also contemplated a lot of less popular Mexican destinations. It's a big country with so much to explore.
