So glad you drove down there Brian. Gorgeous light and reflections! These images remind me of the beautiful work of your Aussie peer, Izzy Abuleela. And fun to see the galaxy shots as well which are amazing. Although I love your little red car intro, I love maps too, so it was nice to show the location in that perspective.

Thanks so much Juanita - really appreciate it 🙏 Yes, Izzy does some amazing work indeed. Ha ha - those big old dead trees were quite spooky to stand beside when we went out for the galaxy shoot - conditions were just perfect for it though. Thanks again and all the best 👍

All stars were aligned for that day , Brian …. No wind , no clouds, colours in the sky, the Milky Way , good diner & good company 😍😍😍…… Glad that we make that quick hasty decision…. Let Do It

Cheers Eric 🙏 Yes, sometimes you just need to do these things - if you go, there's a chance it'll work out - if you don't go, it definitely won't work out eh 😉 All the best 👍

I don't think Lake Mulwala has ever looked so glorious, Brian. I particularly liked the image in your second location: the tree branches looked like they had been dipped in fire and the searing reds and oranges throughout the background were so evocative of Australia's unrelenting summers. I was at the lake in 2018 and it was drained - they do it every 5 years or so to dry out the weed that would foul boat propellers (very displeasing to fishermen, I believe). I think that not far from the boardwalk, I was able to step out onto the dry bed. It just spoke to me of post-apocalyptic devastation, so I grabbed a panorama and rendered it in black-and-white. I'd love to go back to the Lake though and do some sunset shots (with water). Thanks for showing such stunning, inspirational images.

Many thanks Mick - that's very kind of you indeed 🙏 I wasn't aware that the lake was drained every five years - that would be very interesting to see. Yes, it's definitely worth another visit sometime to grab some more shots with some water reflections there - hopefully you can get a nice calm night as we had. It would be nice for you to compare your dry pano with the wet one 👍 All the best 👍

Amazing video Brian, those dead trees were super-impressive. You really nailed those galaxy shots too. I think my favourite shot was the portrait of the big tree at 11:46 with that amazing sunset going on behind it. As always, looking forward to the next one!

Many thanks David - it's much appreciated 🙏 I must admit, we did get quite lucky with the conditions on this little trip. It also continued the next day when we headed up to Craig's Hut - you'll see it in next week's video 😉 The nightscape shots were both one shot - conditions were that good - no clouds in the sky and no breeze which meant great reflections. It puts a smile on your dial and keeps you coining back eh 😉 All the best 👍

Amazing place to see, thought the second galaxy shoot was exquisite, with the rest fabulous. Good to see something different from coastal shots, with inland offering a lot to see as well!😊

Many thanks Patrick 🙏🙏 Yes, some of those inland locations have so much to offer for photography - especially those darker skies we all want for astro shoots. All the best and thanks for watching 👍

Awesome video Brian, my wife and I went down there about a year before you to try the same kind of trip and unfortunately lucked out with overcast skies, glad to see your excellent images and has now inspired me to have another go, hoping for better weather. Just love the milky way shot, that was the one that has always been in my mind to capture!

Awesome place Brian, well worth the drive👍🏼 I love the astro shots but my fav had to be the last vertical shot, Something about the main tree nearly as a silhouette and the reflection is like glass 😍 Thanks for sharing & a great vlog once again mate 👍🏼

Hey thanks Colin - much appreciated 🙏 It was actually all a bit short notice with the main goal being to head up to Craig's Hut before all the tracks closed for the winter. Look out for the next video on that part of the trip 😉 Astro conditions couldn't have been better really - those big old trees were kinda spooky though! All the best 👍

Thanks for the comment Klaas. I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with a visit over this way - fingers crossed you get some nice conditions when you're there 🤞 I'm sure you'll enjoy it - look for the walkway over on the North side of the lake. That where we got these shots 👍 Let me know if it worked out for you.
