I have surfed some good waves my favorite is nicknamed California Pipeline where I lived close to for a while . IIt does no break as good as it gets often but with a swell in the right direction it is epic Waking up to thunder sound in the distance I would go out and walk where I could see it. Seeing double overhead spuare rubes and some cameras on tripods wirh big zoom lenses made me need to grab my board . Not many out It was before surfline and many would not padle seeing it. I is a little tricky you need to pop up quick and make some speed. I learned not to make bottom turns for me. Best barrels I ever had where there. I also remember being rag dolled in the washing machine untill I could get feet on sand. Lucky it does not break out too far. Taken to sunset cliffs on big days was fun but scary when my leash got stuck in aom kelp growing . El Nino was great for bib waves too. Big for a week and more was fun. A Valentines day with rain one day during that was good. I told my helper it is raining we can not work building the elevator that was not protected from the rain. I headed off to Mount Baldy for somew powder and it was 6 feet of fresh and following big snow blowers to get to the lifts. The little place has some steep places to ride but needs natural snow. It is close and can get there faster. Days like that are great .

Good little video. All the best waves at the cliffs are North of Ladera Street, in the area shown in this clip. Also, don't even bother coming down to check at high tide. Like the man said, at high tide there is too much water on the reefs.

I’m so glad I lived at and surfed the cliffs in the 80’s and 90’s before all the web cams,surf reports and dorks like this started selling out the spots. Back then you had to live there and earn your spot in the line up.

I've surfed the cliffs since the 60's which are Point Loma.

I surfed Sunset Cliffs and Ocean beach and in Between all the way to Ralphs at the end of the point for 31 years of my life! Best Place to live EVER! Until it grew too big for myself and Family. Point Loma a Great place for Sure
