You should definitely check out the air strips at Stovepipe Wells and Furnace Creek (both are inside the Death Valley National Parkland). Just don’t go between late May to early September.

sixteen years ago we got diverted by weather and I decided to visit my brother at Ash Flats airport in Arkansas.I didnt even have a chart. Its a 5000 foot runway with tall trees and hills. It took me 4 tries to land it and when I finally did I used all of the runway there may even have been some squealing tires. There is a 46 foot drop from end to end. Stupid but alive. Will Smith

We landed at 24A recently in NC and was surprised how significant 1.6% was. We didn’t even hit the trees, you’d be proud. I like that 3-5 knots per degree, good protip! Great video as always

I had one hover about 800 feet over my wife and I head with no engine noise blimp like with one dim light at the base of it. I wasn't a believer until that happen to me. We were camping in Northern Wisconsin in desolate area. Shortly after it left us a bunch of helicopters and planes were trying to chase it. That's my story and sticking to it. LOL Enjoy your channel.

That's actually pretty typical for a back country plane. And remember, they were taking off downhill, so that was shorter than normal for them.
