In order to make the typewriter paper appear as if it’s in the typewriter, make a print of the typewriter on clear acetate and cut it out to “mask” the typewriter, than stamp the typewriter paper stamp over the acetate copy which will protect your original stamp of the typewriter. This gives a 3D effect.

This is very cute. Personally, I find working with that cloth tape to be problematic due to the extreme stickiness which is a good thing on the one hand but not so great when you are trying to place the tape. I'm wondering if cardstock that has been scored to fold would work? I am so glad to have something else to do with these green file folders, so thanks for the idea.
@suziescrapbook35745 ай бұрын
Yes, you can always use paper hinges instead of the tape.

That’s a really cool journal. Nicely done! I always wonder if there are ever any people who see those pictured people and say, “Hey, that was my great, great …”. I always look as closely at them as I can! You may already know this, but if not, for the image like the typewriter and paper, stamp the typewriter on plain paper then fussy cut it out. Apply a removable liquid glue to the backside of the newly stamped image to temporarily secure it onto the image you have stamped on your project. (There are usually instructions on the glues how to make them removable-which is usually to let it air dry a bit.) You may then see your image and apply the second stamp (in this case the sheet of paper) onto your project with the masked image. Voila! If done properly it comes together nicely. The first time I ever tried masking, it was a cat sleeping on a round rug and an old looking milk jar. Unfortunately I masked it wrong and had a cat with a milk jar on its body instead of a jar behind the cat!! I kept the piece. I put red stars all around it and just shake my head when I come across it! I scanned it into a photo and wonder at this moment if I still have the original or just run across the photo?? Anyway a very attractively done project. Even the few smudges and oopsies worked out just fine. Great idea to use the slotted pieces from the hanging file folder the way you did!! TFS❤ Looking forward to seeing the dangles you’re going to show tomorrow.
@suziescrapbook35745 ай бұрын
Hi Jenn, You can also use sticky notes to mask. Gina K also has a really great masking tape that can be re used a few times before having to toss it.

@@SunsetCrafts You are welcome. Glad I could help. Once I "got it" I did fine with it. Neat that I'm not alone in wondering about the people in the pictures! Oh I think the glue is 2-way glue. Permanent or temporary.

Hi Maggie, another great idea! Is your deckle edge trimmer a guillotine or a die cut? I’m thinking about getting the guillotine.
@SunsetCrafts5 ай бұрын
Hi Suzie, I should've showed it. It's actually the one I got from Journalsay.com. You get the regular paper trimmer and there are different cutter attachments that you can use on it as well, so I ordered the deckled one too. I really like it. It's like using a ruler and craft knife. Super Cool. Here's the link: www.journalsay.com/products/journalsay-multifunctional-seven-in-one-paper-cutter-multiple-cutter-head-combination-cutters I hope this helps. Thanks for watching Suzie
