@patluurzs4 жыл бұрын
Good backing track, thanks! However, wouldn't the scale you want to use be rooted with D? B minor is a similar scale to D Major pentatonic with different roots.
@honeychilerider4 жыл бұрын
I had the same question. D-Maj is B-Natural Minor, but as you've said, with the tonal center on B. Not sure I understand why that's the choice here.
@twodayrecovery2 жыл бұрын
@@honeychilerider each key signature has a relative major and minor key. D major and b minor share the same notes, A B C# D E F# G. You can play those notes regardless of D major, B minor, it's all the same notes. It's very common to use the relative minor in a major key. You could also use the modes. E dorian, F# phrygian, G lydian, A mixolydian, C# locrian all would work in this jam track. In fact linking the major, minor and all the modes I just listed is the secret to unlocking the entire fretboard. Once you can do it in one key, it's pretty easy to transpose that concept to all keys which will enable you to jam in any key.
@honeychilerider2 жыл бұрын
@@twodayrecovery Yeah, I think that's what I said, they are the same scale (at least as long as you're using B Natural minor/Aeolian mode), one might just as well say they were "playing E Dorian over that Em7 chord", but I think what we were talking about was the choice of tonal centers. B Natural minor may be the relative minor to DM but they have different roots, obviously. I think we were talking about WHY one would call it Bm instead of DM if you were playing over a progression that's clearly rooted on DM. But then again it's two years ago so I don't totally remember.
@gillespourtalet58912 жыл бұрын
It is also a eminor dorian
@gillespourtalet58912 жыл бұрын
E Dorian is b aeolian and D ionian. If you know just all 5 shapes in one Key you know all. It is simple but very often not very well explain

Merci pour toutes ces BT de folie! Juste un détail, je trouve dommage que tu écrives "jouer en Bm penta" alors que c'est DM. Même si les notes sont communes, elles n'ont pas le même rôle et ça rend les choses opaques quand on débute.
