This is a remix from 1997 of an early happy hardcore track from 1993. Sylistically and in terms of the structure, it's most akin to 1992 breakbeat hardcore, except for a faster tempo, but it borrows elements from '94/'95 jungle. Personally this is my favourite version of the track. Wasn't a lot like this around when this one came out. Happy hardcore was all stompy, and jungle/dnb was moving away from the mashup Amens to the minimalist 2-step sound.

DJ Ham had the equipment and technology breakbeats led 'Ardkore (Hardcore) inside the venue, the rolling breakbeats is similar to Jungle but it ain't Jungle y'all ;)

I would say this is more of Hardcore track, BUT I have played it in many a Jungle/ DnB set and it hasn't sounded out of place at all! Its also a bit like them tunes you had back in 94 - such as Slipmatt 'Breakin Free' plus some of the stuff by DJ Demo, certain things on Impact Records and other labels which kind of straddled the line between Hardcore and DnB/ Jungle - but this is just an updated version for '97. The remix on the flipside is more of an Oldskool Hardcore rave vibe to it.

Got this and all the just another label bits, phatt remix not near original or wishdokta & vibes mixes but damn good, take me to the top on the flip is another gem, it's jungle techno era cross over, happy hardcore but layering amen break still to fill tracks out, it's all jungle hardcore but piano house vibes hands in the air happy

further more you wouldnt hear a "jungle" dj like kenny ken, dr S, randall etc playing this track, its more of a vibes / slipmatt tune and they played hardcore.....

I have this on vinyl and I bought it on a website that specializes in Happy Hardcore. What genre of music would this be considered? Is this happy hardcore or is it something else? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

12 years late (heh) the genre is electronic, the style is: hardcore/breakbeat/early happy hardcore but it's more breakbeat than other styles. basically what ever style dominates the track is technically the style, in this case breakbeat.

It's at the end of each bar in this song after the drop; it's the "wub" noise first used by Dead Dred in the song Dred Bass

And yes, as well sounds such as the amen break/reese bass the dread bass is the most recognisable sounds in jungle. Bleeping noises just post-drop also used a lot by photek and digital in songs before
