Another deciding function of a trailer is to have fenders.

Nice video. As heavy as the Suntrike is, have you considered putting the hub motor on the ICE? Then again a mid drive like the Bafang or Luna, would be a good idea for the ICE. Keep it light and efficient. That is why I changed out the C'Lyte 3640 hub motor to the Bafang BBSHD mid drive, on the Expedition. Be safe, be aware.

Hi Kirk Yes, have been giving it some thought lately. The jury is still out on that. My next video will Address that issue. Thanks for the comment 👍

@@FMChronicles One of the nice things about a hubmotor, is that being an induction direct drive, you get nearly instant torque and it will even run under water. At one time I ran my C'Lyte with a Lyons 36 FET 5000W controller and a 112V LiON Turnigy battery. Sucker was fast, and left heat trails. Energy hog though, even with brake regen. The Bafang BBSHD mid-drive is lighter, being a clutched geared drive. Max Watts is 1000, unless I modify it, and then I can push 1500. I have a LiFPO4 60V 48Wh battery, and can stretch it out to 200 mile endurance. There is no motor braking or regen though, which is a downside. I have a Cargo Monster on the Red Expedition and use it for my lumber yard trips etc. So the C'Lyte it is on it. I use the Purple Expedition for just cruising around and touring, so the Bafang is on it. A good resource, other than Justin Lemire at Grin Tech in BC, is Endless Sphere. The people there are certifiably insane, and like to push physics to the breaking point but, they are the best when it comes to e-assist. I'll shut up, and you keep having fun, love your videos. ;-)
