I’ve been exclusively fishing off my paddle board in my local estuary’s for the past 5 years, and absolutely love it! It’s the quickest way for me to be able to get out on the water and fish. As you said it’s great exercise and I really like the freedom to move around on the board as opposed to being in a fixed position in a cheaper paddle kayak. I’ve been slowly overtime refining my sup setup and think one of the bixpy motors would be an awesome addition to my board and providing me with all the benefits as outlined on your video. Thanks for all your great content! Cheers Nathan

Haha, classic! Hope you and especially the missus are enjoying life in the US! Happy wife happy life! I've got 2 SUPs, and fish off mine occasionally, heaps fun around flats chasing whiting. Got some good ones at Ballina over the years. I'd definitely use the bixby to motor back against the tide! SUP fishing is fun, but can be a slog when the wind is up or the tide is running!!!

Good to see another video !! I’d love someone to grab this bixpy that maybe are unable to pedal or paddle,I think this would be a great option to help those who aren’t as mobile

Always cool to see someone else make some SUP Fishing videos. A pair of good water shoes goes a long way on being able to stand all day on the boards. Pretty jealous of the motor!
@orricmclsanky2 жыл бұрын
Nice one Byron, never would have thought to put a motor on a sup. If I won one of these it would be going on the compass to deal with the tides, winds or just getting out to pulbah island on lake Macquarie saving the legs for the quiet stuff

We’ve had an big old 2 and a half seater kayak for well over 10 years now and we have smashed the daylights out of it but it continues to charge haha wacking a motor on that would be so wild
@niallcameron64332 жыл бұрын
Hey Byron, I've got a Hobie Compass and this would be able to get me from my usual launch Blackwattle Bay to Darling Harbour. With a little extra speed I should be able to get in and out with a few giant bream before the rangers find me 🤣
@ByronTeaHill2 жыл бұрын
Lol. How does the kayak go in darling harbour with the big boats?
@niallcameron64332 жыл бұрын
@@ByronTeaHill Little bit scary at times but you learn to steer clear of them - if you can't deal with big boats then Sydney Harbour ain't for you 🤣. Gotta get in and out ideally before the ferries start running

I would probably use the Bixpy for my kayak, it’d be nice to be able to have a bit more control over where I’m going, especially when fishing tight spots for Bass
@wattoak66662 жыл бұрын
I think with paddle/rudder controls like that, you should move to Venice and pilot a gondola. That was a great fun video, I'd like one of these on the kayak. Keen to see how you went up in Batemans bay.

An interesting review. Some definite pros and cons. The lack of storage really effects SUP fishing (and that’s totally ignoring the balance aspect). At risk of self disclosure and self promotion- if this comment won the bixpy, I would use it as a re-giveaway, apologies to SLH (and hat ignoring HWS- Hi James!) I would re- give it away on behalf of the the shop I work at The Bass Angler. Props to your vids BTH, am a fan. Looking forward to the US adventures.

Hope your having a good time in the US. I'd chuck it on my outback to help get from spot to spot and motor on back to the launch. Sounds like it's a bit to loud for casting, how about trolling?

I’d use this on my Kayak, to be able to get to some of deeper spots quicker in the bay. My current pedal kayak can be quite exhausting to pedal to some of good spots.

Cool to see some fishing from an ESS-YOU-PEE :P, haven't seen much besides a few vids the salt strong lads have done. Pretty cool "ultra light" style setup to get out on the water, SUP + Bixpy + some kind of box on the rear (Yak Attack Blackpak Pro could be a good alternative to an esky). I would use it on any paddle yak, I don't think you would get a huge benefit on a pedal yak (just a little faster but with noise), but helping get from A to B or even on the way back to the launch point to save the little praying mantis built arms at the end of a long session on the water.

Very interesting video. Have been toying with the idea of getting an SUP, to make the most of those opportunities when I only have an hour or two and when launching the boat is simply not an option. This little unit on an SUP would be great, extending the reach that much further to those juicy banks that are beyond the reach of the shore anglers

Glad it was helpful and yeah I think that’s one of the main adventures on the unit.
