awesome review! I love that this light won’t affect the brightness when changing color temps on CCT. Question: can I charge this light while using it at the same time?

Yes you can, as long as you charge the battery in full first to avoid stress on the battery. That “rule” goes for any battery on any light.

This looks like a great value, so thanks for sharing this review. The green/magenta adjustment is a nice feature. The interface and app seem well designed. I'm surprised that the fire effect is not in color, as I can't imagine using that effect without it. More frustrating is that the case will not accommodate the power supply. That is a major design flaw that makes no sense.

Hi Dave, the fire uses the CCT at the warmest color. If it used the RGB instead, the fire would look artificial with some weird lime yellow and rose colors like most of these lights will use the RGB for “fire” and “candle light” . So, the way it is, to me, CCT is the best look for that. Yes, I wish they made the case with a side compartment to fit the power supply and that little stand…The tube light I just reviewed (not yet published), doesn’t come with a case at all!

Another great review, thanks! Do you know how many lumens these lights output? I'm wondering if they would be bright enough to act as key/fill lights for doing photography and video. They seem to have a similar CRI value as the Godox SL60W.

2600 lumens as shown in the video. They have exactly the same light output intensity as the Godox TL-60 tube lights. These are bright enough to work perfectly for wedding photography (bride and groom outdoors as a fill) For video is even easier as it requires lower shutter speeds than stills. I’m very happy with them.

I currently have 6 of these tubes and purchased them in Jan 2022 ,the operation and brightness is good and the price was good also , after 4 months of use 3 of the lights only hold 70 percent of charge and 1 only holds 80 percent of the charge .the last light holds full charge still but occasionally starts flashing to say its out of charge but the indicator say it fully charged .5 of the 6 lights have broken screw mounts just by screwing the supplied stand into them they simply snap off leaving a big hold that I have put tape over .lastly when using nanlite t12 holders on the lights that have broken stand mounts the plastic tube part has hairline cracks in it . as far as warranty is concerned they simply don’t respond to your request for help even after the units being just a few months old and used a couple of times a week .a shame as I had high hopes for this light so can’t recommend to anyone this unit unfortunately .

One thing that I just noticed on mine is, when using with the battery, I noticed a brightness drop after 1 hour, with the light set to just 25%. But the same I’ve experienced with a TL-60 Godox 🤷‍♂️. Typically, for interviews and other serious shoots that can’t be interrupted, I ONLY use lights plugged in. As far as your situation goes with the battery charge loss and the broken screw thread, I’m sorry to hear that bro. I don’t know what means of communication you tried (email, Amazon messages etc) these lights should be in warranty. I would keep trying. I don’t see why they wouldn’t take care of that.

These are the Sokani tube lights. LOL! I guess they are all ordering for the same Chinese manufacturer. I paid about 95 each. These are pretty good. I have a 4 kit. :) I actually spoke to Sokani about a clip and a grid for this. They said they were planning on it, but who know if it will actually happen. I recommend the Godox TL60 grids. They are a tight fit but they work beautifully for these lights. Excellent review as always!

@@curtisclement Nice move!! Smart!! Dude… you’re gonna LOVE that Riukoe light. I use that EVERY time I do KZbin and it’s as good as well even for corporate videos when I don’t feel like bringing my big RGB lights. Also, it has dimming capabilities!! AND… it’s the only DJ light I’ve seen that has actual white, instead of the useless “RGB white”. And it’s made of cast iron!! Super nice! let me know how you like after you get it!
