No they aren't 3D but most nowadays are 2D with 3D models if that makes sense. They have obvious depth but other than that it is just height and length. Holy shit that's fucking confusing.

most fighting games are from a side view and you can only move left and right (2D), some are from a side view and let you move in like a circle around each other (2.5D), and this one is free roam (3D) I think that's how it works. There's also the digital polygon vs hand-drawn sprite argument. I believe Woolie meant to say 3D but said third person instead, as he is a fan of Marvel which is a 2D sidescroller fighting game

I bought this game two days ago on my dustbox 360 and it's SO FUCKING GOOD. I don't have gold but even fighting the CPU is damned fun. I have never seen so many mindgames in a 3D fighting game. I really wish they'd either bring this to PC or make another game similar to this one. I had no idea Platinum was capable of creating competitive games of this magnitude.
