It's actually was explained in some story that the Kaminoan turned against the empire and cut off the clone supply. The empire then destroyed them.

I thought it was more like The Empire took to tying up loose threads, and as the Kaminoans could just be bought with money, they would inevitably turn to making clone armies for other planets or powers.
