1:05:05 I believe it's also stated somewhere that giving in to the dark side of the force is equivalent to taking a drug, in that the more you do it the more addictive it becomes, but the more numb you become to it so you have to do even worse things to get that high from the force. So that can explain why it is so easy for Jedi to fall, as well as non-Jedi since, according to canon, everyone is connected to the force at least a little, so it makes sense for normal soldier guys to be swayed by the better Sith deal. They may not necessarily get the high "feeling" from embracing the dark side, but it's enough to corrupt their morality and ideals.

Just rewatched revenge of the sith for the first time in a while the other day. I honestly don’t know if people just didn’t pay attention to what was being said in that movie (which I kinda get cuz the acting is pretty bad at times) but I thought anakins choices made perfect sense. Palpatine and windu were saying the exact same thing when it came down to it. The Jedi were straight up going to take control over the government once the war was over. Anakin just chose the path that allowed him to get what he needed.

Yes, but the Mortis God arch of Clone Wars essentially defines Anakin's true destiny as: Being a Baby sitter for a "gods" children, so they don't argue about who ate the last brownie and destroy the galaxy over it. It's not great. Some of the primal magical stuff like Sith Spells and Force rituals is dope! But the gods arch is done poorly, for poor reasons.

First of all, The Father, Son and Daughter originated in the Clone Wars series, under George Lucas. The first EU/Legends book in chronological order, Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void, shows the same interstellar ship/prism planets on its cover as seen in the Clone Wars series. It's not clear if they're gods, and if they are, Anakin as able to subdue the Son and Daughter all at once in order to save the lives of his Padawan and Master. Do not act like Rebels was the one who invented this. Rebels did introduce the portals, which could act like time traveling, but it's sort of not like time traveling. The Ahsoka show may expand this, since the title logo resembles the shape of the portals. So read the books, both Canon and Legends, watch the shows, and keep calm.

I think I get it: Woolie wasn't cool with the idea that Star Wars jumped the shark & said "Hey, there's gods now, like D&D deities with special divine powers who made the universe," because it's a bit too fantasy for the overall science-fantasy tone of the setting. It would be like if the Dark Side was revealed to just be Force-users literally selling their souls to demons; It's just weird and off-putting given what the series was set up to be. It's just a lot better in his eyes if it's just "Oh yeah, they were super-powerful force-using aliens which people started worshiping" because more grounded, relatively speaking.
