I just beat him and it took me 49 turns. I felt like I was fighting him forever. I can’t believe you beat him so quick.

And they were only at level 22, which is nuts. I was level 23 when I faced the 2D Culex and he even gave me trouble then.

@@davisbowe8668 That’s exactly the level I was at when I beat him. I used mostly used Mario’s super jump to beat him. You just have to get good at landing 50+ jumps per turn and having Mario with the super suit.

If you're referring to the Dark Star attack vs. the Dark Star from Bowser's Inside Story, they're two separate things. The ones here are closer to Ztars from Mario Party in design, but they're also different in function as those detract a star from your total in some games.

This was great, but I’m around level 24 and he KO’s my entire in 1 round because he does his big hit to take me down to 1 HP, then a crystal goes before I do so I die. And a lot of those AOE spells are unblockable. This is a tough fight- I wish I had the skill to get the attack scarf. I got to 20 jumps ONCE, but most of the time I can’t get by 12 or 13. Sad, I’m a Smash Bros Ultimate elite player, my reaction and timing usually isn’t a problem. I couldn’t handle the Yoshi race minigame either. I’m just bad.

The game gives bad feedback on when you're supposed to hit the button. It gets way easier if you just look up when you're supposed to hit it, lol

sorry for the late response, you probably already know the solution by now. But after you beat Smithy, you unlock some extra stuff in the game. You have to sleep in the Premium Suite in Marrymore, then Geno will tell you to go back to Star Hill. There, you can find pink stars. These enable you to re-fight some of the major bosses, like Jonathan Jones for example. All you have to do is go back to the place where you originally fought them. The Frog Sage will also give you hints. After you've beaten all the boss re-fights, the door to Culex will return and you'll be able to fight him in his 3D form.
