Scott Pelley goes to American Samoa to find out how a territory with a population less than the capacity of a pro-football stadium sends more players to the NFL than any similarly populated place in America.

I actually met this person and he is one hell of a human being, a role model and just the type of person who gives hope. New Orelans is such a beautiful city, go Saints
@georgfriedrichhandel43907 жыл бұрын
It is even more beautiful for those of us blessed enough to live here. We may not be a picturesque city like San Francisco or Sydney, Australia, or blessed with beautiful natural surroundings like Denver or Albuquerque and we may not have the culinary diversity that cities like Chicago or London have but unlike those other cities, we live in a culture. and the beauty of our city is not readily apparent to the visitors. But anyone who takes the time to seek out that beauty will fall in love with New Orleans the same way that Mark Twain, Tennessee Williams and William Faulkner did.

@@georgfriedrichhandel4390 New Orleans is a beautiful city. Nola reminds me of an island. The way you all speak, your culture, food and music. Hopefully, the engineers fixed the levee issues. America without Louisiana would be very detrimental to U.S. ecomony.

Ok, I was cheering for the Colts to win in Super Bowl 44 but I gotta say, if they had to lose, I'm glad they lost to the Saints. I think Drew Brees is one of the strongest men I have ever seen. He has such a kind, caring soul. He took the team & the city of New Orleans on his shoulders & made something amazing. I can really relate to him to on the relationship with his mom. I, too, have a complicated relationship with my parents & I know I can be a loving mom when I have children. God bless

My God, I love Drew Brees so much. He inspires me to be a better human being. His soul is incredibly beautiful. I love him for loving my city and for taking care of it the way he has. My list of heroes is pretty short but Drew has earned a spot on that very exclusive list. Drew I love you and your beautiful family. Thank you for taking a chance on us.

Watching this interview again and remembering that Drew led his team to a Super Bowl victory (and I do not believe it's an exaggeration to say that he indeed single-handedly saved this franchise which was on the brink of leaving The Big Easy for San Antonio), I can't help but wonder whether the Chargers or the Dolphins now regret their decision not to keep and/or sign Drew Brees. Did they think while they were watching Super Bowl 44, "Shit, that could have been us"? When they consider that they had (or could have had) the league's best QB and let him go, I wonder if it just gnaws away at them.
@saints2superbowl7575 жыл бұрын
The reverberations of his decision are still being felt in Tuscaloosa today. Nick Saban was the coach of the dolphins at the time, and he really wanted Brees to be his qb...would he still be coaching in the NFL had he landed Brees? I guess you can argue that Brees' decision to go to NOLA started the most dominate college football dynasty (ever)?

I am a new orleanian! I remember all the bag years all the good years, but when Drew Brees came along it was something totally different! I never seen anything like him, in the things he did for the City of New Orleans was tremendous! He's now retired and I miss him very much! I watch this with tears in my eyes because not only in my proud and happy of the Superbowl win but I am more moved by Drew Brees himself as an MVP quarterback!
