Anyone who's worried about skipping Sunday and missing out on _"the"_ new meta. Keep in mind 2.0 had multiple metas; It started with a Kafka and Black Swan DoT meta against the Meme, and we were hot off the heels of Ratio and Topaz. Then we had the Acheron Ultimate/Debuff meta. Then with HTB we had Superbreak, but it wasn't exceptional or meta until Firefly, even with Boothill. Robin and all the FUA units like Jade for PF, Yunli and Feixiao were the other meta alongside Superbreak. This all to say there won't be one single meta, and one character isn't going to break your account.

Personally I think Fugue is a bigger buff to Boothill/Rappa compared to Firefly as both don’t implant weakness as reliably as Firefly does (Boothill with his ult, Rappa doesn’t compared to Firefly on enahnced skill) and so Fugue will give them 50% weakness ignore, which will help them in case they fight against foes not weak to their type (and Boothill’s ult is on cooldown). That and Firefly already has weakness ignore in one of her traces which doesn’t stack with Fugue’s. That and Fugue’s exo toughness may be able to get Boothill to 3 stacks faster with exo toughness although I could be wrong. Personally as a Firefly main, I kind of don’t want to replace HMC with Fugue as that would mean splitting them apart.

Fugue can be run with Acheron too since she is nihility .. for me personally i do wish she is on par with hmc or like just bit worse so we can replace HMC with Fugue in FF team .. then i can use RMC in other team

@@HeyItsme-c8x I will like that but i doubt it, HMC is doing alot for my FF team, hoyoo really created one busted free unit with HMC, taking him out of my FF team the damage drop is so big, in my opinion HMC is the reason superbreak does so well not FF, and i have a E1 FF. For me it will be a logic patch, do i want to enter summon meta? if so sunday, if not skip since fugue is not needed with FF from what i see, the only thing i might get is E2 FF but i might skip it, i prefer save up and get better things in the future,

It's interesting how Sunday and Fugue's pull values are inherently tied to each other. If you want to play summons, then Sunday's pull value goes up, and Fugue's pull value also goes up because she'll need to replace HMC (assuming Remembrance MC will also be important for the summon playstyle). However, if you have no interest in playing summons, then you don't need Sunday, but you also don't need Fugue because you're just going to be sticking with HMC anyway since you won't be playing Remembrance MC (again, making assumptions about how the team building for these playstyles will work. It could of course end up working differently). So it sorta ends up feeling like, you either pull for both of them so you can play both Summons and Break archetypes, or you skip both of them if you don't want to play Summons and can just keep using HMC in Break since you won't be using Remembrance MC anyway.

It will depend on RMC. We don't know if all Remembrance units will be DPSs or some of them are supports (kinda like Nihility). If RMC is a DPS, I don't think they'll be worth investing into, even if summons becomes the best archtype, so people could stick to HMC. However, if RMC is a supportive character, things change drastically. RMC could be as important as HMC is/was. Unfortunately, official information will get revealed when Sunday's banner is already over, so we'll have to be up to date to leaks to make the best informed decision.

Nah, there's another crowd of folks who want to future-proof their break teams but are willing to wait for the Fate collab to get into the Servant meta. By then, we'd know if Sunday is truly the BiS Remembrance support or if there will be a shift to Nihility units as leaks have suggested.

@@Elysian_Song Can't believe we went from 1.X sentiment of 'there will never be good duo dps comps unless an enemy is weak to both dps elements' to the 2.X sentiment of 'If it's not duo-dps, it's bad' For the record Bronya variants of Feixiao Robin Aventurine aren't significantly worse than Topaz. This is basically a hypercarry team with a support/sustain doing a lil' damage. And yes, Bronya over Sparkle because Sparkle's power budget never was better than Bronya's, a 1.0 unit. Sparkle getting crept is because they gave her 50% AA for some reason when her buffs weren't that much better than Bronya. Comparing Sunday to Sparkle is very different because Sparkle is underpowered not because she's Single Target, but because she had no niche, bad traces (Her BA giving 30 energy + her Mono-Quantum trace are hilariously bad) and her buffs are mid for 50% AA value. New summon DPS will be designed around Sunday, and if they do make a hypothetical teamwide summon buffer, there's an easy balance, give them no AA. Robin was an oversight/mistake to Hoyo, not the standard for teamwide buffers. If she was the benchmark, they wouldn't have been so cautious and made Jiaoqiu so balanced if that was the case.

I DESPISE Sunday 😅 (he irked me since his first appearance in the story) but considering the summon meta I almost decided to pick him over firefly (my fav char alongside Acheron based on the story) Totally forgot how Hoyo always matches a great support with every meta defining dps. That’s how I got Feixiao + Robin + Lingsha / Acheron + Adventurine. Now I can pull for firefly with complete peace of mind and wait for the summon dps + support. I only just realized how rough character pull value is looking to just future proof yourself for the endgame modes. Fugue and Sunday imply a bunch of potential meta shifts in 3.0 and beyond, but trying to get Sunday and then be essentially “forced” to get Fugue to fill in for HMC is pretty rough for low spenders and F2P’s. Though, I might still go for Firefly + Fugue regardless because I like Firefly (been wanting her for the longest time since I failed to get her on her debut) and even if the endgame does somehow make break teams underperform, she is still very strong on her own merits paired with Fugue. Always prioritize the characters you like and build the team around them. Chasing the meta for the sake of it will never really be worth it with how quickly its shifts. Missing out on a full stars clear of the last stage of endgame modes will only cost you 3-4 rolls per patch. Compared to upwards of 75-150+ rolls you may spend to get a character for the sake of meta, it's better to settle with your favorites especially if you invest in them enough to carry you for a few more patches

Power creep is real, but honestly I don’t think pull value is too hard to keep up with for the meta as long as you’re going for clearing rather than 0 cycling. I started in 2.3 and basically have had no trouble clearing with a total of 4 cost. E0S0 fei, free march 7, e0s0 robin, gepard (lmao) E0S0 firefly, free HMC, e0s0 ruan mei, e2 gallagher I think as long as you only spend pulls on the essential dedicated support and DPS, they’ll last you a decent amount of time. Acheron + jiaoqiu and filling the rest with 4 stars like pela and Gallagher is another example for people that prefer that archetype. When they rerun sunday, they’ll probs pair him with the top tier summon DPS that you can pull at the same time and that combo + remembrance MC + sustain will probs keep you going until the next major shift.

sparkle was undertuned bcs they didnt know how to do AA for new harmonies yet, now we have robin. even if they make a teamwide summon supp, i doubt they would have any sort of AA as counter balance against sunday hypercarry comps. RM didnt get crept at all at her niche, so It's likely Sunday won't as well. ST buffers arent eventually replaced bcs sparkle wasnt even a huge bronya upgrade, bronya is the better pick over her for most 2.x crit dpses (after robin ofc). Robin was a mistake and oversight in hoyo's eyes (hence why JQ as a teamwide buffer has a much more balanced power level), not a benchmark

Again, Robin being broken is an oversight, she never shouldve been better than sparkle for hypercarry but hoyo didnt realize how easy it was to get perma uptime on her ult and left her overtuned (which means AoE is useless bcs only the one dps is doing damage anyways)

Robin is a mistake that will not happen again. You can see it in the way JQ was released as a actually balanced support. Its very obvious that Robin was never intended to be better than Sparkle for hypercarries but they might've tried to make her better than RM for dual carries but they ended up overshooting with her into being stronger than both in every single aspect because the beta testers nor the playerbase at the time had no clue how to play her. only reason RM survived is because she has Break to work with and Sparkle is dead because she can't work that well with Robin, prior to her she was the best hypercarry support and there is no arguing against that. I doubt we will ever see a overtuned unit like Robin happen again at least not for a while, at least i hope as she hurt the game in so many ways and is singlehandedly part of the reason why HP inflated so much the last few patches.

Even though Sunday's kit is loaded, there is a vey high chance he will face the same situation as Sparkle vs Robin. The reason is that 3.1 is going to have a 5 star quantum Harmony unit and is rumoured to be a HP support and most of remembrance dps after Aglaea is leaked to be hp scaling. So if u r gonna go for Agalea pull for Sunday or wait for his rerun to have a better idea about his place in summon meta.

The thing is I feel like double harmony will still thrive, and I feel like in the best team comps of 3.0 when the strongest dps come out, Sunday will have a place on those teams. Even for hp scalers, he buffs crit, energy, action advance, and the 40% def ignore at e1 is the highest we’ve seen.

One thing's for sure. In preparation for the new Summon Meta, Sunday has pretty much halted my E2 Acheron Hypercarry and DoT plans dead in tracks. I was even planning (reluctantly I might add) to skip both Sunday and Fugue since I thought I am satisfied with the current roster of my meta so that I can save for The Herta. Then Aglaes and Remembrance Trailblazer with the brief description of their path's kits dropped. My overdue DoT and Nihility plans once again have gone completely out the window. Now Sunday has become a major priority to support future summon units. With an easy guarantee 10 to pull 20 guarantee pull since I lost Acheron's 50/50. These pulls are not making it easy to save. 😂

Just like Pokke mentioned, Sunday might not be the only summon support just like Sparkle was the hypercarry support in 2.x, and Robin and Ruan Mei also came out. If you don’t like Aglaea, you can simply wait for the next summon DPS, which might introduce their own archetype or summon harmony. Personally, I’m skipping Aglaea since I already have Acheron, and adding another lightning DPS doesn’t bring much value to my account.

ruan mei wasnt better than sparkle in hypercarry. robin being better than sparkle in hypercarry was poor balancing/foresight from hoyo that they wouldve been fixed if they realized how easy it was to get robin ultimate. Sunday has a clear niche, summons, and like how they mever stepped on rm and robin's toes, i doubt they'll do it to sunday for crit hypercarry summons. They might introduce other type of summons, but at the very least all the summon dps until probably version 3.4 will be catered for sunday

One thing from the livestream is that they showed Aventurine being able to shield summons, so in theory i think if you wanna wait for a Sunday rerun but eventually get a summons meta team, you can afford to skip for now since i think other buffers/sustains will also work with summons, albeit not as good as Sunday but just something to keep in mind that you might not miss out too much by skipping Sunday

aglaea will definitely be most likely tuned around sunday as her support, like how feixiao/ratio is to robin or firefly is to hmc + ruan mei. herta is not a summon char most likely so i dont think she rocks the boat for that yet. also good to consider it'll probably take around 3.2/3.3 firefly equivalent for summon that they will rerun sunday so you might have to cope with that

Pulling more for characters I like on that front though, the fact it's still a decent plan is a nice bonus. (Flamechasers may well mean I never actually get Sunday, so oh well) Also can pull 2 solid superbreak teams at the same time now if really want (traditional HMC/RM/Firefly, with the other being Fugue/Boothill or Rappa/other support (probably Pela for massive def shred)? or could always go Himeko for more dps I guess)

Honestly since I have boothill and FF, I'll 100% go for Fugue since both of them can benefit from her. I have an Acheron team, FUA team with Feixiao and 2 Break teams, so I think getting Fugue is a no-brainer. I'll catch Sunday on his rerun and wait for a possible powerhouse Remembrance DPS since I will eventually skip 3.0 (No use getting Aglaea since I don't have Sunday yet and she's summon and I really don't need another erudition character)

I don't think there should be any SP issues Sparkle is +1 SP and S0 Sunday is SP neutral. You might end up losing sparkle buff at some points but I'm not 100% sure

Sparkle and Sunday is better then Bronya and Sparkle for sure, but you Will still have Uptime issues with Sparkle, as well as Buff Saturation. (Since they both have the same type of buffs) Robin is Indeed the best support to pair witth Sunday from what I've seen, but you can use both Sunday and Sparkle just fine unless it's Jing Yuan or future summon character (Which I wouldn't Recommend.)

My thoughts on the Summon meta is that I think it’s an extension of the follow-up meta unless they specify that the summon’s attack does not count as a follow-up. And if it’s like that, I wonder if the Summons would use the stats from the Summoners and if we need to build the Summoners as tanky or big DPS

Pair Fugue with either Rappa or Boothil + Robin + Lingsha. And make another team with FF + HMC + RM and Gallagher. 0 cycle both nodes. 2 SB teams. You can even use Himeko as a SB dps too with Fugue if you dont have any break dps. You just have to pull ff too in phase 2.

I learned my lesson after they pull fast one on sparkle. I also thought sparkle was future proof, but turn out she didn't even last one year before being powercrept. The powercreep in this game is insane. I will just wait for sunday rerun and see how summon meta shape up and how relevant he is in the future. Right now I already have good team to clear content so I don't feel pressures to pull for sunday.

@@namanrohatgi3785sparkle was considered very strong and a bronya powercreep, however as robin released and the meta shifted too teams working in unison to deal damage as opposed to just hypercarry, she quickly fell off in the average team as opposed to robin or ruan mei. People are nervous for sunday being another single target harmony who seems strong now, but there is a 3.1 harmony coming who could very well do team wide buffs and powercreep. But i wouldn’t worry as sunday is actually built for a strong niche were sparkle was not.

As a f2p, I I invested in both E0S1 Acheron & Jiaoqiu. Getting E0S1 Robin & E0 Aven meant I went for Feixiao but got blessed with bailu. I have E0 Ruan Mei and E0 Rappa (pulled for her to clear swarm disaster), so looking forward, I’ll invest in Sunday for the summon meta and pull Feixiao when she reruns since I already have a 2nd BIS team for her. Rip superbreak. (May skip Big Herta for Fugue)

Both Sunday and Fugue seem to be very valuable. Sunday is probably going to be BiS for all new summon characters and Fugue allows you to have Remembrance MC on your second team or use 2 superbreak teams at the same time (easy win in every Apoc Shadow). I'm gonna have about 160 pulls at the end of Sunday's banner and I think I'll go for him. Fugue will be a skip for now, because Herta and Aglaea look more interesting for me and I'm kinda bored of superbreak at the moment.

I love HSR, but this is the kind of stuff I knew was going to happen day one. With such a limiting combat format, there's just going to be units that strictly better than others, and your characters will never matter more than the enemies they face. I just wish it wasn't so blatant.

I think Super Break team will always have a value because of the permanent blessings on Apocalyptic Shadows (only activates on breaking the main boss). Despite that my account which don't have any Limited 5* break dps can still 3* all the end game content (with my Himeko Super Break). But is this sustainable in the future? That's why leaks (in characters' kits) is very helpful not just for F2P but also light spender.

Yup, that is where I am at. I have no interest in summons, so I will stick to break (and FUA and DOT.) But, I only use Firefly and Himeko for super break purposes. Idk if I can justify pulling Fugue since HMC will very likely stick around. But getting Eidolons on Firefly sounds a bit fishy to me. I just dont know how hard super break will fall off in the near future. Interesting times
