Wonderful explanation! ^o^ That is the video I was hoping for. Tho, please correct me if I am wrong: this only works on conventional shapes? If I were to want to use this on.. a piece of accessoire or clothing from a character, which already is textured- it wouldn't work?

That's right. It works best on primitives. The next update will allow for irregular planes but for now it's planes, spheres, and cylinders.

@@nodesandnoodles Ahh! Okay. I already bought it, but will have to wait until next update to use it then! ^o^

Not necessarily. What kind of object are you trying to use it on, as in, what shape? Also, the update will allow for irregular non-flat planes, but it won't magically adapt to any and every shape.

@@nodesandnoodles You know the "fur" on some winter coats? I was trying to use it on such a mesh form.
@nodesandnoodles10 ай бұрын
I see. You might be able to make it work by constructing the coat into several pieces but then deformation, by armature for example, may be difficult. Super Bump works by duplicating geometry upwards along the Z axis, this is why it isn't suitable for complex shapes. My plan is for Super Bump 2 to use a completely different approach which will allow for complex shapes but will probably be much less performant than the current version. Unfortunately, version 2 won't be available for some time yet.

Are you planning to sell it on blendermarket?

Super Bump is only officially available from Gumroad. I won't be releasing it on Blender Market.
