Both teams finished 12-4 that season as I recall and both were the #2 seed. It was the second consecutive year that the Patriots finished 12-4 where they were the #2 seed behind the Broncos both times. It was the 1st time that the Panthers made the playoffs since they went 12-4 in 2008 where they were also the #2. They lost in the divisional in both cases.

The Patsies had no business bitching to the refs that game. Aqib Talib should have been ejected in the 1st quarter and they got favorable flags all game. Also, Brady underthrew that shot to the end zone on the final play, it was uncatchable by Gronk or any other Pats eligible receiver, and as a general rule you don't call DPI on final play hail mary's unless it's 100% clear and obvious. It wasn't, so Panthers won. Well played.
