Brady had a lot of “near miss” super bowl matchups in his career 2001 and 2003 - vs Eagles. That 2017 SB could’ve been Patriots-Eagles IV 2007 - vs Favre 2011 - vs his boyhood team, the 49ers 2013 - vs Wilson 1 year earlier or the 9ers 2014 - vs Rodgers 2016 - vs Rodgers again 2018 - vs Brees 2020 - vs Bills (could only imagine the devastation amongst Bills fans if they made it to a SB after all these years only to be foiled by Brady again)

I think part of the source of Brady's frustration at the end of this game had do with how it seemed like the Packer's offensive linemen were working so well with Aaron Rodgers to get him loads of time to find playmakers while as for Brady and his offensive line, they seem to do well at moments throughout the game, but they seemed to struggle when it really mattered. If you combined that with the fact that this was a close loss, it's not to surprising to me that he was as emotional as he was there at the end. If he had been playing a game of Madden, he probably would have rage quit. It's not a mystery. One can clearly see here just how much the guy hates to lose.

We were so close to getting this matchup in the Super Bowl but the Packers had a historic choke.

I guess I can't really complain though since SB 49 was one of the greatest SBs ever.

Despite the pats losing, we know Brady doesn’t scramble out of the pocket but his ability to avoid sacks is a skill all qbs should have!! That’s why running qbs still get sacked because they stand still In the pocket until it’s too late to scramble

Brady usually doesn't react terribly to losses in the regular season, he probably still thinks about this one though. He wanted to win this game BAD.

Forget the Seahawks running at the 1 yard line, they had no business being there to begin with. Patriots vs Packers is what should have happened.

Two Super Bowls we never got to see but came so close too was Brady vs Brees and Brady vs Rodgers. The latter would have been a shootout and the most fun one to watch. Actually they both would have been shootouts tbh but Brady vs Rodgers SB would have been even more so.

2014 is when Brady locked in. He reached his peak, maintained it and took full control of the NFL from that point on until he finally retired. Brady is the reason the pats were able to win Superbowls again. He had to take full control of the team and take on more of a workload. (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021)
