I clean mine all of mine before I have them detailed 😂😂😂 not wipe them down, but get all personal items out, trash (even under seats) empty out all holders (cup, doors, console, glove compartment) completely empty of any evidence of someone owning it 😂 literally all they have to worry about is detailing the interior, so no, u are totally not alone lol

Trust me. My mom and dad live on a gravel road with a gravel driveway. The rain removes maybe 20% max of all the dust. Plus, with numerous tractors and cars driving on them daily for 7-8 months of the year. The roads literally turn into a powder. Then a a goopy sloppy mess during the rain. So again, rain doesn’t really help.

A couple ways that work pretty well are, using some folex spot cleaner on a towel, you can also pull the belt out as far as possible, rest it on the vehicle then close the door and pressure wash it, but you have to be careful the buckle doesn't scratch the paint.

I think he has talked about that on another video. I believe he does APC on a microfiber towel and if it really bad he will bust out the steamer with the scrubber and towel like he does on the headliner.

I know a guy who had a large multi-row van that had never been washed or vacuumed out in the 10 years he had it. It was well used, and when he went to sell it decided to have a couple of kids do a detail and wash - $500 and 20 hrs between the 2. He figured it raised what he got selling the van by couple thousand. He took good care of the engine, tires etc - just never cleaned it... which, is kinda weird in my book, but ...

Sad part is whoever owns/drives this car won't even appreciate how clean their car is. It will be dirty within a matter of a week and probably looks really dirty within a month. Don't get me wrong, the detail is worthwhile to at least salvage the paint in the long run so it won't be permanently damaged, but anybody who doesn't wash their car at least once in a while doesn't care.It's definitely true a person's car is a reflection of how their home looks so I can only imagine they don't clean their home either. yuck.

After (4) of his vids I realized why they're so enjoyable, 80 percent of the vid is an enjoyable cleaning montage for the sake of cleaning entertainment. Any talking is mostly factual, kept to a minimum. Other detail vids are always trying to teach me something, interrupting, saying what's been said 10 times over. DG is easy to listen and watch.

James & his wife Myka adopted a child from China and then all of a sudden, after about 3-4 years after the adoption, they decided to re-home the little boy because he had severe autism and miss Myka couldn’t handle it. He was non verbal as well but somehow he was able to tell his parents that he wanted to stay with his new family (still not is forever home). He was then sent away, I guess, and on their video - which I think it’s still online, not sure - they said it was hard, they had no more money to pay off therapies and all of that and that they were scared for their other BIOLOGICAL kids so yeah... When I tell you the internet went WILD, I mean WILD WILD; like people were out for blood type of wild, it was insane. If you have time, you can look up “Myka Stauffers gives up child” and you’ll see *all* the content. It’s been about 4-5 months now but the internet will never forget.

Thank you!! When I was depressed and had a lot going on, I had a disgusting car. It was bad, and working 15 hour days didn't leave me with time or motivation to clean my car. Judgement was not needed, and even though now I have a clean car I maintain, it still hurts to look at every single comment talk about how disgusting the car owner is. I've kept my car clean for years now, but I always think back to when life was harder and keeping my car clean was literally the least important thing I could be focusing on.

What we see here is the automotive equivalent to liposuction vs gym/diet. Also ...I don't even let other people change my oil, but some folks just see cars as appliances. When was the last time you flushed out your hot water tank or serviced the belts on your dryer...pretty much the same thing in my view. Not knocking, just attempting to deconstruct the mindset.
