Thanks Loyd, I loved my Heiro 7 and completely agree on the type of terrain they perform best on. I wore the 7s for a couple of 100 mile events and was really happy with their performance. Look forward to trying the 8s in the future.

Similar tread to my Parkclaw 260's - which is deffo a road to hard packed trails shoe. Lulworth is just a few miles from me. It was glorious out on the hills today. I hope you had a good run. Cracking tunes, as always. Made me dig my Traveling Wilburys tape out :D

I think the v7 was a step in the right direction, being more aggressive than the v5/6 thread pattern... These however are gone a very "tame" direction and appear to have totally jumped into the road to trail segment. I doubt I'll be buying into these. I am going to buy another pair of discounted 7s... These appear too similar to my Nike Pegasus react 4. Just my 2c

I tried from V5, V6, V7, and V8. TO be honest V6 is the most comfortable one in terms of shoe structure. To do V6 with Vibram MEGAGRIP sole ( I did ) is the best combo

I run mostly on gravel and have used a few versions of these. the v7 had some more aggressive lugs than the 5 and 6. It was actually a bit much for me. this new version looks a bit lighter and better suited for what I use them for. Should be good changes for me.

Love the red but wouldn’t buy trail shoes with white on them. To be fair though with previous experience in other trail shoes I won’t buy anything with less than a 5mm lug on them. I want a pair I can wear all year round that will give me confidence what ever the weather.

I love the Hierro line but how do these stack up against the New Balance Fuel Cell Venym trail shoe?

It looks like the Venym is slightly lighter than the Hierro V8, it doesn’t have a Vibram rubber outsole and you obviously get Fuelcell cushioning instead of Fresh Foam X 🤔

I’m not sure the shoe needs more cushioning! It very very comfortable and cushioned under foot for me 👍🙂

@@Run4Adventure Heel stack is perfectly fine, but forefoot cushioning being a bit lacking is expressed in many user feedbacks. If they just reduce the drop from 8mm to 6mm and give the forefoot 2mm more foam would be nice.

Nice video, being that I am new to trail running, I was curious how you would compare the Hierro V8 to the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 or perhaps the Speedgoat 5 or Challenger 7, or Trabuco Max 2. The Hierro looks great and I feel I would like it better than the More trail.

They’re nothing like the Summit Unkown, definitely more of a road to trail shoe 👍 I’m really enjoying them though and I’ve clocked up quite a few miles in them now 🙂

I tried another shoe with ecostep. Felt horrible compared to vibram megagrip, pumagrip or asicsgrip. Just sliding on slightly wet concrete.

I haven’t had any issues with the Ecostep rubber, it’s not as grippy as MEGAGRIP but it’s still been ok 👍
