I made this last week. Had been using a recipe that calls for Zote, washing soda and borax but it was not getting my whites as bright as they could be. I love this and will be using from here on out. One thing I did differently than your instructions was to mix the borax and washing soda in hot water before adding the dish detergent. That way all powder is dissolved before the detergent is added and there will be very little (if any) suds when the water is added.

Thank you for this video..... I loved your dry laundry detergent and adjusted the amount of certain items according to my household washing and I fell in love. I did a lot of research and found yours to be the best for me and my family. Now I think I am ready to give the liquid one a go. My plan once I have the liquid one according to my household washing is to make enough of dry and liquid detergent to last for all of next year. I homeschool so it is going to be a science project to do with my 5, 4, and 2 year old. The plan is to make start making it this December and have it ready to go by the end of that month. Please keep ideas like this coming because I really enjoy them.

I prefer using Dr Bronner's castile soap instead of Dawn. You can add vegetable glycerin as a binding agent so the ingredients won't separate after sitting awhile. You still may need to stir or shake the container you put the mixture in before adding it to your machine. 1/2 cup per load max.

There’s a difference between soap and detergent. Laundry soap will mess up your washing machine over time because soap clings to the seals and hoses, eventually clogging them. Laundry detergent does not cling to seals and hoses. This makes detergent perfect for washing machines. Only use soap if you are hand washing laundry. Use detergent if you are machine washing laundry.

we use the liquid detergent only for the colored laundry because we had too often the problem of the powder stuck on the black laundry :( but on the white ones the powder detergent is just the greatest!
@kroselynn6 жыл бұрын
kawai hillhill Powdered detergent will do that if you add it to the top of the clothes. Washing machine manufacturers even say in their manuals and some on the underside of the lid (top loading) to add the powder to the bottom of the machine, start the water in the highest temp allowed by the kind if clothes and then put the clothes in. If you put the detergent powder on top of the clothes it is less likely to disolve. completely. I’ve even went so far as to turn my washer on using hot water to let it fill just a little, so it has a head start by disolving the powder, then switches it to warm (or cold) and then added my clothes. Sure its an extra step, but its better than having powder residue from undesolved powder all over my clothes. As a matter of fact, with any too loading machine, you should add any kind of detergent first, liquid or powder. It has to mix with the water in order to do what its designed to do, right?

If its used alone it will. But the diluted dish soap mixed with the other cleaners won’t clog the innards of tour machine as easily. Or if its used in the dispenser. It will eventually build up in the dispenser and tubes. If you put the detergent directly on the clothes inside the washer is far less likely to clog any tubes. Just because there is a dispenser, doesn’t mean you have to use it.

Do your research on the safety of all cleaning supplies in your home. Just because it's used does NOT means it's safe. In this world of disease and cancers, ect. we are literally exposed to chemicals everywhere. Why not make your home as safe as possible. It's called reducing your chemical load on your skin, water supplies and air quality in home. We need to educate ourselves because the Companies out there are not going to tell you the truth. Think about your skin in the Dawn soaking up the chemicals while washing dishes every day and multiple times a day. Our skin absorbs very easily. And clothes can be left with a residue or fragrance. Just saying.....
@bee75494 жыл бұрын
Because people will sell toxic items and some people blindly buy them without educating themselves. Multinational corporations are making billions on selling cheap, toxic chemicals and medicines to people because most people don't do their own research.

Alice Jones Because Dawn was the quickest and got their product donated faster than anyone else to get all the free advertising! Thats why. Do you think the rescuers went out and bought all that Dawn? If they needed to go out and buy soap, it wouldn’t be one if the most expensive brands, when the same ingredients are in less expensive brands. As for Dawn being toxic or not I have no idea. I don’t use the nasty stuff and never will. I don’t like the smell or the way my dishes feel after using it. Dawn isn’t the best, they just got a lot of people fooled into thinking it is. Palmolive and Joy, or Method or Mrs. Meyers are far better than Dawn ever will be. Dawn just spends more on advertising to fool people into thinking its the best. I know I know! You say you’ve tried other brands and they just don’t work as well as Dawn! Blah blah blah, well, I’ve tried other brands besides Dawn and I don’t think its all that special.

Just because Dawn is used on wildlife doesn't make it less toxic. People in this world does a lot of things for a lot of different reasons. It doesn't make all of the decisions right. And just because the use is published on tv doesn't make it okay either. So for all you Dawn supporters, have you researched the chemicals individually? Or found long term studies on the soap? Have you written the company to find out the percentage of chemicals that are left on your dishes to dry and you consume them every time you eat? Dawn is made up of synthetics. Sythentics are tetragogens. While this maybe a quick, simple, cheap product. Opt to use a replacement like Dr. Brenner's or Castile Soap. Especially if your a women. Those intimate garments will be leaning against the breast and vagina all day. The breast stores breast milk and the vagina is a membrane. Just 2 important reasons why I wouldn't wash those intimates in anything with Dawn. I would definitely switch out the Dawn if you have children that you're washing for. The autoimmune diseases are rising significantly. Our children are exposed to more then their fair share with soaps, food, toxic air, emf signals, etc. We don't need to add to it.
