You should build a nature reserve on top of one of the mountains, the view would be awesome, and it would greatly boost citizen happiness. Also, an idea for trains, most regions have a slower train the stops in both big and small towns, for example your train that goes from port Douglas and stops in Danton, Pine Harbor and Tagfield. Regions also usually have an express train going in between the big cities, and you could build a very fast express train from Port Douglas to Pine Harbor.

I think the new gentrified row houses need some painted pedestrian crossings to help the new cims get to their destinations safely, and by adding stop signs to the intersections, the road will generally be safer overall, unless its purpose is a two-lane artery. This would also help bring out the life of the gentrified row house community in their busy downtown homes. I lived in a similar-looking area in Chicago, next to the loop, and one of the most frustrating parts about that neighborhood was the lack of street signage (particularly speed limits) and the complete disregard for painted crosswalks. Great work, and thanks for the content!

11:23 - The purple car going from left to right: Notice how slow it gets when crossing the corner - that's because, on that node, one of its sides was stretched beyond its limits (making the lines Red instead of Green). That causes cars to cross such nodes really slowly, which can cause major traffic issues - of course not the case here, but found this one as a good sample.
@hend0wski
@hend0wski Жыл бұрын
those cars are stopping because you inserted those nodes, reset the segments, or upgrade the roads to itself and theyll start moving again. Also, those asymetric bike lane tram roads you have are, i think, adaptive networks enabled, you can open the adaptive networks interface and add custom stops per segment instead of having to create your own!

"thinking about a parking spot" comes from realistic parking settings in TM:PE. I stopped using it because cars would stop in the middle of an intersection "thinking". unless you provide tones of parking, like 2 places per resident you will end up with lots of traffic of cars looking for parking. I think I read somewhere what the algorithm looks for a spot 10 times before despawning a vehicle.
@hend0wski
@hend0wski Жыл бұрын
@@00mihau000 I suspect they were looking before they stopped, and then stopped as a result of the broken pathing caused by the node insertions, but It could be a combination of the two for sure.

This is simply unreal, how can you keep upping yourself with the level of detail. The area looks absolutely great, and feels like a real place! I'm not sure about the removal of the brick apartment building and also not sure about the crammed fourplex in its place, but other than that - perfection! You make me want to start a new city or continue building my current one, but then I'm discouraged with the mods and assets being broken after the recent updates. I feel like I've spent more time at the Steam workshop fixing stuff than actually playing in the last months, lol.

Been following your build for a while now. If I could suggest to have the covered tram stop 34:33 nearer the tram since you built a pavement for the people to get across. As well as the one in the opposite stop, maybe we could make a crossing across the bike lane going to the sidewalk rather than for the people to take the long walk to the pedestrian crossing and then finally the sidewalk.

Hey there! Great video as always. I actually live in a row house in South Philly that is right behind some railroad tracks, so this really spoke to me toward the beginning of the episode. I might suggest trying to build more rowhouses that look almost the same right in a row and just changing up a color here and there. Many blocks in rowhouse heavy neighborhoods will have a fairly uniform look by block with some isolated exceptions for new builds. This would represent an area that was built around the same time to accommodate workers for new industry that would have been in the area at the time. Over time they'd be painted or refreshed in slightly different ways, but more often than not, you can see that the block was built as a cohesive group.

Love it so much! Those cozy streets are just incredible! It adds so much charm to the city. Thanks for the second episode in such a short period, waiting for the new one)) For the building on the corner, I think there might be an office of one of the major companies in the region there. Because they wanted an interesting view and good public transport connection. And fo the stops, I'm not quite a fan of the wall on the stop, because it just makes people walk all around and doesn't give enough space for people to move around when the tram comes. Also, as a proposal for the mayor, the city can consider upgrading stops to elevated ones so that citizens don't have to climb the tram. Incredible job as always, thanks for that!

Man, I would love to live in Brickville, Port Douglas. Taking the Tram back from the downtown, stopping for a cold pint with the boys on the Stag & Pheasant pub, then walking home to a nice, cosy apartment with a view of the waterfront (maybe those apartment towers, if they're on good condition and affordable :P). You've created a very nice urban area man. It is really enjoyable to watch. If I may add a suggestion, closer to the port, but on the side of the residential/commercial area you can build a sub-district of Brickville, where all the old warehouses, merchant shops, small industry (like manufacturing lamp oil, textiles etc.) could have been, but since these uses have abandoned the area it has been turned into a nightlife district, with old warehouses been turned into nightclubs, old merchant shops have been turned into restaurants and stuff like that. The cobblestone walkways are walked by thousands of locals and tourists every day and night. I've compiled some images for inspiration if you want. imgur.com/a/KVmcpK9

Port Douglas is in dire need of parking. Obviously not everyone there needs to or will own a car, but that level of density is simply too much for street parking alone, especially when you limit the street parking so much.
