Once again a fabulous tutorial that keeps the panel from being distorted!!! Love it!! 🧡

Thanks, I changed the music. Some people didn't like it the first time around :)

You read my mind, as I wanted to find an attic window technique that had smaller window frames and accounted for distortion. Thank you for the tutorial.

Hi, at 1:25 minutes in the video I am showing the intersection of the middle (zoomed in) You will cut 1/2" at the intersection of every window frame, including the middle. The outside edges don't need to be trimmed. Hope this helps.
@donnarowe602711 ай бұрын
So you cut a total of 1.5” Right?

Yes 😊

Just found this video. Very helpful for both the window panes and the mitered border! I plan to do one of these soon and like this method.

Great video, I have always wanted to sew a window frame picture. You didn’t suggest a width for the sashing, it seemed quite narrow. What size would you suggest? Cheers

Hello, very nice quilt and video. One thing, I'm not trying to criticize at all and maybe I'm wrong, but under the first row shouldn't there be a little bit of black on the left for the shadow? Like when you added the piece of white to get the window effect. Great video,

@@jeanniejohnson3975 Hi, not sure what you mean. There is black under the first row. I guess I would need a picture of what you are referring to.

I love this! Can you tell me how wide the black sashing is?
@TheBrokenNeedle Жыл бұрын
1 1/2 Inches :)

Really? For the black sashing. It looks more like 1 inch

@@tracygill8900 You're right. It's been a while since I did this I had to look it up. Cut at 1" in order to finish at 1/2"

Is the width of the black sashing included in how you compensate your picture size
@jeanniejohnson39754 ай бұрын
Hi, you know how you added the little extra piece of white so it would look like the window. Well under the frame (the piece in the middle) just on the left side, shouldn't a little piece of black be out there so it looks like a shadow creating more of a window look?
@TheBrokenNeedle4 ай бұрын
Still not sure what you mean. There is black on the left. 😂 but yes you can do it however you prefer. Use your imagination and change it to fit the look you are going for 😊

How do you determine the math for how much to remove? For example, if I wanted my window frame to finish at 2” would I still need to remove .5” from all intersecting points or take out more? I love quilting but the math kills me, lol. Thanks!
@TheBrokenNeedle4 ай бұрын
@@lisascott9945 you would cut out 3/4” from all intersections ☺️

I love this video. I was just starting to do my first Attic Window when I came across this. I do have one concern though. If I am taking 1/2 inch from all intersecting sides, what happens to the size of the middle panel pieces compared to the 4 outside? The outside has only 2 intersections right? So I lose 3 inches (Right & Left sides trimmed), to the 2 center and only 1 1/2 to the sides?since there is only one cut ( either left or right depending on side piece), Or am I not seeing something?

Hi, I loved the video so much I bought the exact same panel. I was just wondering how wide is your black sash?
