Phil, do you usually go straight to a Rayon pad w/glass polish for windshields? When would you use a paint polishing pad like an orange LC w/paint polish instead?

Hi. I only use the rayon pads of the the glass has bad water spots usually just a regular microfiber pad and P&S clarity cream are my go to now.

Hi Phil, great work on the truck! I am considering CSL and Exo v4 for my first coating (professionally installed). I understand that Exo is great for beading but after 18 mths or so, it wears off and leaves the CSL which is more of a sheeter. Is that your experience? Would prefer a sheeting coating than a beader (dreaded waterspots!)😊

Thanks man. So what I have experienced and talked to Gtechniq about, CSL is also a high beading coating and EXO is only optional and not required as a topper. In fact EXO on its own can last up to a year. CSL is also rated at a 5 year coating but not a lot of people know that.

Hi, question for you. I remember well, you switch between alcaline soap and/or APC for your pre-wash. I would like to know your prefered method right now? And, I would like to try SUper Clean diluted in spray bottle, but I don't know the good dilution for a normal road dirt. Would you be kind and help me? ALso, I like that you say that we dont always have to polish 90% of scratches, it will help me trying polishing and installing my first ceramic coating next summer!!! Thank in advance!

Hi. So for initial details that need deep cleaning I will use my regular apc rinse. For maintenance details on ceramic coated vehicles I will usually use a strong alkaline shampoo to pre wash and rinse off. Don’t depends on the service.

Ah ok. You can use the same stuff on that plastic also. I wouldn’t use clarity cream because it’s meant for glass and it’s very aggressive. I polish or all in one polish would be better for those soft plastics.

Yes but it takes a long time for it to actually wear down. Glass coatings are a little harder and provide really good wiper abrasion resistance. Usually they only last 1-2 year depending on how much weather it sees.

Hi. It not really a matter of time, basically I keep an eye on it and see how it responds. In colder climates it may take longer, in hotter humid climates it’s faster. So after applying wait and see what it does.

Hey Phil, I’m thinking about applying the kamikaze 2.0 coating..What are your thoughts on that coating and,do you think it’s that much better than the UK CarPro?.. It’s probably double the price as well. And your honest opinion, do you think it’s worth the additional money?

I’ve never used that coating so I really can’t say. But I trust Carpro, Gtechniq, and Gyeon coatings because I’ve used them for many years.

Sure looks beautiful. Question: How about badging, decals, and emblems. The word Tremor, the "Ford" emblems and such. Do you use same polish/compound right over them? To me, they seem soft and finicky. Always concerned I'm going to catch an edge and lift it up on decals. More so on older cars and trucks. You ever running into a problem? Cool video folks. Hi wife!

Hi thanks. For emblems I just carefully work around them and try to avoid the edges. If I need to get closer I use the little 2 in polisher. If it’s vinyl decals I just gently go over them but never put pressure or go too slow over them.
