Thank you , Thank you, Thank you.. You by far the most straight forward people I've seen. You don't talk much you get straight to the point t and thats what I like. Especially about the sifting of the flour. Most people don't tell you to sift . Thanks I'm gonna make this cake.

I made the cake this morning and it came out great......I made a few changes, I placed the cake into a cold oven and baked for 70 minutes at 325, then cooled in the pan for 20 minutes. I used bakers joy spray. I made a glaze with fresh lemon juice and powdered sugar. I gave the cake to a friend and so far everyone loves it...It slid out the pan , nice and tall, with good texture..Thanks for your video.

I've heard of sour cream pound cake but not cream cheese. I can't decide which would be best. I love sour cream and cream cheese both! Haha! Traditional recipes for pound cake, and this is how it got its name, are a pound of butter, a pound of sugar, a pound of eggs and a pound of flour. I can't imagine trying to determine how many eggs in a pound without a scale. Haha! Truly this looks delicious!

OMG! Phyllis, I've never had homemade pound cake before and never knew what was in it. I know it's terribly bad for us. Just 1/3 of that cake has a stick of butter, 1 c of sugar, 2 eggs, and a c of flour (not counting the creamcheese & icing), but I've got to make it at least once in my lifetime! Thank you♥

Phillies I found you a couple of years ago looking for pound cakes because my sister was hoarding my mother's recipe and wouldn't share it. I found your "simple little pound cake" I think you called it, and it is my favorite go to for everything. Funny thing is my sister has asked ME for the recipe because every time they come to town, I make one for her husband because he's addicted to it 😊 it barely makes the 12 hour drive home. I think of you every time I make it, thank you so very much. I can't wait to make this one.

As always, homemade is best. Reading the ingredients on the store-bought cakes should make anyone think twice. You show people how easy it is to make at home with basic ingredients. My daughter and I would always bake together. For Easter we made a Sunshine cake in a tube pan that had a yellow layer and a white layer. It’s fulfilling to know you made it yourself and, I think, makes the finished product taste better. ; ) Thanks Phyllis!

OMGOODINESS! WOW! Now, That's a *CAKE* Ms.Phyliss! A southern dessert Icon! Mouthwatering, and just by looking at this beauty, i can see the texture is soft, somewhat fluffy, which is perfect for ME since I don't like my pound cakes too dense, the "crust" is nicely browned and the crumb looks tender and the whole dang thing looks utterly delicious! I travel with my own personal defibrillator for occasions such as this, lollol.. so I'll be having seconds on this one! LOL!

My favorite way to eat pound cake is melt butter in a skillet then fry a piece light brown on each side. Warms it up and adds an oh so good butter flavor🎈

The more buttery taste the better. Our youngest son liked his pound cake with extra butter, he used the toaster oven and made it like toast, I don't think he knew about making it in a skillet or he would have been making it just as you described.

Well, Phyllis . My cakes are done. It filled one loaf pan and the other to half way. I made the shorter one a marbled. Wow ! taste like old times! As I was growing up ....Nana would make one now and then. I did use Swans Down cake flour though ...as in the past. Your use of cream cheese in it only made it better :) Now I realize I could have used my bundt pan , but I like having both kinds. Thanks for recipe !!!! darling phyllis, you're right. we LOVE sugar. it just makes our glucose go up! darn! but sincerely, go for it...you seem very healthy, (probably because of your wonderful green smoothies which i am starting to follow). my doc says eliminate the banana and some of the fruit and all is good.
