For others, you can mark 3/4" of depth ON your drill bit (just draw a line on all sides), so you know when to stop (you can use a metalic silver sharpie, or red). Its quicker instead of constantly stopping to measure. (You can also take the sharpie off later with a little acetone).

Quick question in regards to drilling the holes, would a forstner bit work better or even a drill press with the stop set at the correct depth, you did great with the paddle bit though, thanks

Thx good vid! Funny about forgetting the glasses - I do that too. Also, you can mark the bit for depth so you don't have to keep measuring - or do both to be sure.

hahaha my thoughts exactly-but I did buy 3 4ft dowels because I figured it out in the store-also, I saw another persons instructions and she put the bottom rung 18” from the floor and the top rung was 6” down from the top (12in apart) -so I will be incorparating that idea into this ladder. I have never made anything before-hubby has all the tools-so I am going for it-great video to inspire me-you guys made it look easy and fun👍THANK YOU

🤔 do u think this will work as a plant hanger? I have 16 plants I usually hang on the hooks in the wall in my laundry room....but they touch the windows or wall since the hooks don’t come out away from the wood far enough....so I saw this truck to hang a ladder from the ceiling and then hang the plants from the round rungs! Problem is that I didn’t want to spend $300 for a 12 rung ladder. I want it to be even 16 rung so it would center in the room across my windows there. If I used this pattern and just enlarged it.....is it strong enough to hang all those plants from? It’s just me and I’m no builder....I can get the wood cut so that I only have to assemble it....I just need to know it’s not going to crash to the floor mid winter and kill my plant babies lol.
@Studio-ge8qd
@Studio-ge8qd 4 жыл бұрын
It will be strong enough, but 16 rungs is going to make it really long, which might make it not be strong enough. Would likely need to use at least 2x6

Ok, the bottom rung is so close to the floor, what are you going to hang on it without dragging on the floor? Otherwise , you’re on your way to makin blanket ladders!
@charlotteh9035
@charlotteh9035 4 жыл бұрын
Nothing, but it would look pretty unlike a ladder with a rung missing! This isn't supposed to be blanket storage turned ladder, but a ladder turned blanket storage. Thus, it should look like a ladder 🙃
