Stephen, congrats on the news you'll be getting a granddaughter! I have a 1 and a half year old granddaughter and a 3 and a half year old grandson. The greatest feeling is when I come home from work and by wife is babysitting both of them and they come running up to me yelling "Pappy's Home". That blanket ladder will be a great memory and heirloom from her grandpa!
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you John. Glad you enjoyed this project. I think babysitting might be fun although I have never really thought about it before. Could be an Adventure (Fishing and Woodworking) Yeah, I think that could work. LOL! Take care.

Congratulations on the new granddaughter Stephen! The blanket ladder turned out great, I loved the flower details too! Your new little one will love it… it’s obvious that you are going to spoil her (which of course is what a good grandpa is supposed to do!).

@@StephenOgle Grandkids are special for sure. And they definitely grow up fast. My oldest will be a teenager next month. Where has the time gone? Lol

I made one like that several years ago. I drilled completely through the rails, and had blowout, so I cut triangle shapes and drilled through them, at attached the triangles to the rails. I painted the rails white and cut the dowels long enough to extend an inch past the rails, and left them natural with polyurethane. It was greatly appreciated and looked better than I expected. There is nothing like making something for a child (or her mother).
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Doug. Your design sounds pretty good. I bet they still have it. Using the triangles was a great idea and probably saved your project but also made it unique. Thank you and take care brother.
