150g (5.29 oz) pork belly, cut into bite-sized pieces
3 cloves garlic, chopped
350g (12.35 oz) sour pickled mustard, rinsed and cut into small cubes
A few dashes white pepper
1 tbsp light soy sauce
200ml (6.76 fl oz) water
1 tbsp white rice vinegar
1 red chilli, julienned (optional)

I attempted to make this classic childhood dish, used sour pickled mustard purchased from the asian supermarket here in Australia. Unfortunately I was not able to make this dish taste the same as how my grandmother made it. I wonder if it’s because the supermarket brought pickle mustard is too sour and too overpowering.. 🤔

Hi Luia. I suspect your childhood dish was made with salted vegetables (mustard) instead 9; sour pickled mustard. You don’t have to add white vinegar if you’re using salted veg.

Hello there, I would love to see you cook my all time favourite dish I have when I'm in Chinatown... Haam Choi Tofu For Laam (Siu Youk) Faan or Chow Mein or Ho Fun - Pickled Greens, Fried Beancurd, Crispy Pork (tho can have it with Char Siu) on either rice, crispy fried noodles or rice stick noodles. Please please make a video of how to cook this dish..! Regards Dave

In our house,we have 2 versions,1 like this n 1 dry version. We make the dry version with chopped chilli padi and a little bit sugar..so the taste will be a little bit sweet,sour n salty
