These are working in the latest 17 beta - and thanks to your next tutorial - I've been able to edit and create my own in fusion. Great stuff!! And many thanks!!

Done today, just open Davinci, and drag them into fusion generators, then restart

Happy to create more of these if people want/need them! Also, I experimented with a bunch of different methods for this, there's one other way using Fusion I really like so i'll do a seperate video on that shortly 🙂👍

Thanks Alex. I think your videos are great. I like that you keep them short, snappy, and to the point. This one is very useful for me as I have used split screen quite a lot and the way I was doing it was a real fiddle.

Thanks for aving this channel, dear. I can´t open the file on MAC (it says "there is no program to read it"). Is there any other way to download? Thanks again

Please. It would be great if, in the adjustment panel, one could move the divider for anything other than the 50/50 division. I managed it by tinkering with parameters on a copy of your template, but it was limited to blind trial and error.

Your 5 min Friday tutorials are great. One subject, to the point, pleasantly non-bombastically voiced and easy to follow for a non-native speaker. Plus subtle hints on the coffee subject in the entire video :-) Got it, coffee is on the way.
@MrAlexTech4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words Frank :) I'm glad you enjoy the videos! Also, the hints to coffee were not actually intended 😆 I always just make a cuppa before I record my videos so I figured it'd make for a good narrative. However, I do appreciate your coffee donation so thank you 🙂👍

I really like your tutorial videos, Alex. I have used split screens when I used hitfilm. Since I use Davinci I have never used split screens anymore. Thanks to you I will start using them again. Thanks, buddy!

I like to watch your videos always. Not because i need to know something for a current project, but because i can always learn something. For example i didn't know you can put a timeline inside a timeline and this is what will happen, i did not know you can copy and paste the attributes and those two will make their way into my workflow... Thank you so much! THANK YOU!

Great video as always.. you are my guru... why can't everyone make videos like you simple, clear, straight to the point, short,.... everything a good youtube video should be... Thank you!

I started using DaVinci Resolve only a couple months ago, and this is literally the first thing that I needed to learn how to do. I was making split screen videos of my students singing choir songs, and resolve worked great for you because I could edit the audio and video essentially at the same time, but I really wish there was some easy templates for split screen.
@bluefletcherfish4 жыл бұрын
Question though: can I edit these templates? For example, I will need to split the screen 16 times or more.
@Letsmakemusic44 жыл бұрын
@@bluefletcherfish Also wondering. I've been using the griddy effect through final cut pro, but I'm running into the wheel of death once I'm working with quite a few clips. Been thinking about switching to DaVincine resolve because I'm so fed up with final cut bugs.

Thank you for making these settings files available for anyone. I have tested it and run into a problem when tried to use Split2XHoriz on a timeline that was cut on top and bottom ("cinematically"); i.e. I applied Output Blanking 2 to it (which is a moderate effect). This cause the top and bottom lines to disappear. Transformation, scaling does not seem to help. The best solution was to add a transform node in the Fusion page and modify Y Size.

Great tip but what about usability? How will you cut to and from a split screen? I see some interesting potential using whip pans, for instance, where a whip in the top continues in the bottom and creates something like a "rolling text" effect. Even though it requires cuts to be the same lenght.

Hi Alex Loved this tutorial on split screens do you have or is there any chance you could do a split screen video where the screen is split in three a different way, by that I mean half the screen is one video the other half of the screen is split into two videos. essentially one large video and two or even three smaller one. Many thanks
