How are you the only one I've come across who's been able to make it so easy to understand? All the other tutorials I've watched are so difficult to understand and follow compared to yours. I keep commenting on all your vids lmao, but they're just so helpful, I've been watching them and learning to mix my songs every day through them.

This might be the most audibly different compressed/bypass example I’ve ever seen on KZbin. Thanks for getting that right, I really learned something from that!
@TheMetalmaniac686 жыл бұрын
This is honestly the best tutorial I've seen on how compression should be used in mixing. I don't even particularly listen/ record this genre when I'm working but its great anyway. As far as the hand gestures go, keep doing that because sometimes beginners really do need those kinds of explanations. Awesome job man thank you.

I ALWAYS have to search for tutorials and tips with people using the exact same plugins as me, but with you, you use everything different but you go into perfect detail and use good examples and I truly appreciate it as someone who cant afford to go learn this in a schooling manner.

Brother, You are god, I have watched a lot of videos about vocal mixing but this is the video I learned how to mix correctly Thank you and love you thanks again
@jonnymodena6 жыл бұрын
When you were setting that release, and you moved it up one single notch... i heard degredation at a minute level and thought "nah go back one notch, it was perfect"... then you did just that. And that is the difference in people who have an ear for perfection. Great video. I am meticulous about my vocals as well, but I will certainly use the attack/release method you showed us here in my future releases. Thanks man. You have a new subscriber.

bruh.... I've been in the game a loooong time (you're young, but trust me... you know some of my work lol).... and your tutorial/explanation of EXACTLY what Compression is and the purpose it serves.... is simply the BEST non-techy explanation I EVER heard! I love when well-knowledged people can explain complex things so understandable. You, Ave Mcree and the brother from The recording Revolution are probably the best at doing this! I continue to support and follow you for this very reason. Salute!

Well explained (and credit to your teacher/instructor - they must be proud of you). You certainly understand your tools and know how to make the most of them and, more importantly, can articulate the concept in an easy to understand manner (and this is why at universities, they "tend" to have Dr's/Professors lecturing the first year students - because the lecturers are on top of their game - and for third year students tend to get masters' students, etc., doing the lecturing). I expect a lot of down votes for me comment here but my point being: this is a great tutorial. Many thanks for sharing.

If the artist sings with decent levels, you can even keep the attack to slowest. However for crappy vocalists with no control over peaks needs fast attack to control those peaks. Nice tutorial bro

You didn't talk about threshold, thanks for info atleast because of you, now I really understand WTF Attack and Release does and how to use them to favour the mix
@lytehousemusic1116 жыл бұрын
threshold on compressor tells compressor when to start compressing at at what db level example: threshold at -6db tells the compressor how hard to compress. ratio tells compressor for every decibal setting example 1:1 means every 1db the compression will act attenuate overall signal. the higher the ratio, the harder the compressor will work. the lower the ratio the less it will work. Hope this helps
@Randshowz6 жыл бұрын

for rap vocals you want to let all dynamics and power through so little to no attack should be used along with fast release so the compressor breeds els its gonna sound like R@B
