In this episode of Parker's Swamp, I show you guys some of the common snappers my neighbor and I saved from the raccoons. A bunch of female common snapping turtles laid nests on my neighbor's property this year, some in good spots and other rights in the woodchip path. We decided to leave the nests to hatch out naturally but the raccoons raided them as well as all the painted turtle nests. So when we saw the last female common snapping turtle come up to lay eggs right in the middle of his woodchip path, where he walks everyday, we decided to grab the eggs for artificial incubation. They have hatched out and are going right back into the lake.
