A bit of an advice if you want better gains: Add a couple of more challenging variations and go for more volume - reps/sets. Then take AT LEAST a day off after really killing it. Recover and repeat, and possibly go a bit harder next time. Stop doing those everyday, unless you just want to 'warm-up' or merely stay active.
@darkfrusti19 күн бұрын
@@HomeGymBro sorry. I do it also every day, but have optimized - have included Diamond-Pushups, Archer-Pushups, Squats, Planks and more PullUps (also with a weight vest) and so on. It's my daily morning-routine. But I do other muscle-exercises every 2 days. ;-) so for me it's perfectly and I am 51 years old.

@DahjerCanaan9 ай бұрын
About 10-11 years ago today, for about 4 months I did push-ups almost daily until eventually one month I found myself able to do 100 push-ups per rep. I also found out eventually trying to do more than I did the day prior, and upped the maximum by +100 per rep. I eventually made it so that I could do 1,000 push-ups in a day, with the reps gradually getting lower as I went higher (basically did 500 my first rep, then 250 the next rep, then 100, then 100, then 50 to finish it off, I took breaks after every rep.) Truth is I stopped doing these 100 rep push-ups per day because I heard that repetitively I wouldn't continue seeing results, I would still get the same gains no matter what I did. I probably shouldn't have stopped but when I heard that it wouldn't gain me anything by doing it and that I'd have to push harder each time, I couldn't be bothered. I didn't feel like I was gaining much more either and I didn't want to have to keep upping my required reps just to see more gains (basically meaning 100 reps felt normal to me and if I wanted to gain more I would eventually have to keep going until it was 200 per rep, 300 per rep, 500 per rep, 1,000 per rep and so forth). This bothered me because I wasn't looking to become built like some huge bulky body builder, I just wanted a more lean and cut physique and didn't know exactly how to achieve that. Oh and by the way, I didn't just do push-ups, I also did sit ups, squats, and even hand-stand pushups against a wall for balance. I didn't exactly have anywhere to jog or anything so I didn't do much cardio.

Damn. Intense way to start my Monday morning. Rest times definitely need to be longer for me, for now at least. Some great variations though. That hold at the bottom is rough but feels effective. Pause button is your friend here, or maybe your enemy. Helps to have gloves to help with grip on ones like the archer and wide ones. I like the hands facing out, whenever I've done archer or wide I keep a wide position but my hands are still forward so out feels good. Have a great week all! Remember, it takes 3 to 4 months of consistent working out and healthy diet to see some results and a year or longer of being consistent to really see great results. Don't give up, stick with it. A year from now you'll wish you started today. Let's get it.
