Lots of variables to think about, I know ATT has a wifi service now in many areas. I believe they pull from the 4G towers just like I'm doing. Just check if they limit your hotspot speeds after a certain data usage.

I don't think I am "quibbling" when I point out the reality that any booster WILL NOT AMPLIFY your cellular connection. Yes, you can definitely get a better signal inside your home but only to the extent that you can get a better signal outside your home. SIMPLE EXAMPLES: If you get only 2 bars in your house but 4 bars outside your house, a booster outside will pick up the better outside signal and send it inside your house so you now have 4 bars inside. If you have your booster outside on an elevated mast/pole say 20 feet high and you get 5 bars on the outside booster, again you will get 5 bars inside. Using an outside booster, under no circumstances will you get and inside signal that is any better than you can get outside...

I had to do this as well for a time. It worked ok for a bit, but running my wifi on cell data was flakey (for me at least). You all may want to look in to a direct wireless type of ISP. Its basically an ISP that works on line of sight to their towers, just like cell data, but its been more reliable for me

Oh, also you can get a wireless router that will take your cell phone as an input for internet and give you better wifi coverage in your house. I went with an Asus router. And grats again on your new home :)

The visible hotspot is capped at 5 Mbps... All you need to do is buy a 4G router and put the visible SIM card in the router. It will be full data speed as it's not a hotspot it's just pulling the regular "phone" data. Also visible is $25 a month now with the party play

Does anyone know if the mini cell towers seen on some houses can be configured as a booster? I am under the impression they're usually set up just for better TV reception.

So do you need a cable provider plus the high boost? Or is the $40 charge for cable provider and one time purchase for high boost?

40/month for the full unlimited data and phone service with visible. High boost helps to give faster more reliable 4G signal to the phone I'm using to hotspot from. It's hardware and is one time.

Did the speeds stay that way over time? any reprioritization or throttling? From Visible website: "Mobile hotspot with unlimited data at speeds up to 5 Mbps, limited to one device."

do you have to periodically wake up the cell phone delivering the wifi hotspot? or does it stay on while delivering wifi signal 24hrs a day?

You just set the hotspot to never sleep. I turn the phone and signal booster of every night. I charge the phone and let it drain while in use then plug it in at night.

Is there no mobile hotspot cap anymore? I noticed Visible's site still notes that hotspots are capped at 5mbps.

I would like to know if you can advise me. My apt. Complex forces us to use their owners own internet and cable service. The service sucks. Is there a way I can get some other way to get internet service reasonably without using the owners service? Many of the internet servicers can not provide service here.

Can you explain why you couldn’t just connect YOUR phone to the repeater instead of getting an additional phone for that? I’m trying to understand all the different components of this setup. Mahalo!

I am getting speed capped at 5 mps with Visible. How are you not being capped at speeds of 5 mps? With the booster off you were getting over 20. I think they did not cap speeds during COVID outbreak. How are your speeds now?
